iPhone detail and clarity and depth

Great example of how screenshots are mostly meaningless. Mike's pictures taken with canon and nikon cameras are fuzzy, blown out, and lack detail compared to your same picture taken with a phone.

Kal

Meaningless maybe by you Wink Anyone can see the Oppo is superior to HTPC or Panasonic player in every way and if Mike wants to post test pictures for his work then good for him. The last pic posted should be easy for Mike to better if his
machine wasn't a constant test bed............... Liking my Oppo and posting.................

Take high def shots. Shots that show the clarity through out the image, and not just closeup facials. And in the shots of the Indian guy, why can't you make out the finer detail in his hair (strains) or anything surrounding?

And take FULL shots, as smaller images are always sharper and easy to look good. The larger shots should represent better resolution capability and that is why we have been using them for years.

Tim, those shots were done on purpose. They were shot with a lot of ambient light in the room..

A different Blue Ray player and lens focus. Still need to do color balance and finish the setup, but would need to replace the LCP on green to an LUG to match the red and blue.

JVC HD750 ( AKA RS20 I believe) vs stacked 909's

Keep in mind the stack was turned on and pic taken so not converged 100%

JVC with new lamp in normal lamp mode with Iris fully open.

I think the stack looks more natural. The JVC looks oversaturated

It would be interesting to compare using an OPPO darbee player. I think this would sharpen the background on the stack.

You actually lose depth and detail with the Darbee best not to use it. 103D looks better bypassing all processing.

Not sure what you mean? Ceiling brackets for the stack?

I found the opposite. A little darbee works very well. Maybe every setup is different.
