Looks like the new batch of moome cards are getting delayed until the end of march. I hope they sell enough for them to get into production as I desperately need one.

Finally got the pedestal section stage on the VIM properly following HD. And that lead me to the Moome, that had to also have changes made to it. And with all that being done, the images are much sharper. And that sharpness is not a result of any peaking anywhere in the video chain. Yes, Zero Peaking or sharpness enhancement.
A few quickies that also let's me know I'll need to find a different camera setting from now on

Yes there is something in the dark scenes I have not seen before. I was thinking that before I read your comment.

@Thewolfman. I keep thinking that skin is to blue. Did you try to calibrate?

Yes I will. HopeI get the new boards soon but on the other hand Mike keeps improving. Perhaps send him another set for the next stage of mods?

I have used blue sub bright excessively, yes, and way more than red sub bright. I go back and forth between the two in effort to make hue as human like as I can. Other than that I use Etech for set up with colors.
From one day to another, my view on my images changes, some days I think it looks good and the next day it suddenly looks off. Though, nothing says it doesn't become even more off with continuing tweaking the colors.
I don't know how to calibrate, but will reduce the blue sub bright and try again.
With the Leia photo; it looks like she's been roughed up by Harrison a little bit before take off. She's a bit purple on the chin and between the eyes. And where she's suppose to be cheeky rosy she's also a little purple there to. It could be the camera doing this and will look more carefully tonight and see. I didn't see the purple at first and only noticed it after posting them.
I don't want to buy a VP, but wonder if a light meter could help balancing the colors along with the brightness and contrast as bonus. I already have ChromaPure installed and just need a meter if so. I have been eye-baling the X-Rite i1 Display for this.

Might also depend on how many beers you had prior to viewing on a given day

No calibration. I've been using the Marquee for board wort evaluation, so proper skin color is not on my test list for now, but will be later.
I'm basically done with the mods, with the final testing for them was last week when I sent out a set of neck boards, and got confirmation they were as expected.
What I've been working on the past week, is the commercial version, that is somewhat different. Trying to wrap them up before the 15th, because that's my goal for having them ready, though they market is not HT.
I did manage to look at the Moome card and have made some changes to it. But these changes are only necessary for the later version (anything the past two months) mods only.
Oh, my blue CRT is having coolant issues right now, and that's why there's an overabundance of blue in the image. I've really been focusing on detail and low end performance that past week.. But when I do calibrate for overall image, it should be something to behold..

Here's a few more I did last night. They can only be appreciated when you're in a dark room or environment

Mike are you sure this is right, It looks nothing like the reference CRT projector SONY G90, or The worlds best BARCO 909.. You must do something wrong with that Marquee..

Red Drive 37 - before 35
Red Sub Brite 56 - before 60
Blue Drive 59 - before 55
Blue Sub Brite 80 - Still 80
Contrast still at 60 but Brightness down from 14 to 12 + a little fiddling with G2 levels. All in all a tad more red and a better image, imo. Thanks for your input!
As for the Leia photo, she is slightly purple in the movie also so nothing wrong with the camera.
Samsara sand is with the old settings but will take a new one later.

Ok. I will have another go at it.
Do you have a bunch of suitable screenies that I could try and mimic? You can choose any movie you like but if you happen to have American Psycho, and the wineglass scene, that would help a lot I think as I often use that one to set hue. The color of her hair seems to changes drastically even with small changes. We can take it off line if you want?
I have The Great Gatsby to (the new one) witch is very colourful, do you have that one? I watch a little bit last night and the monitor is way warmer then my pj is. Not that it is more accurate its just more red and warmer.
If anyone else want to chime in that's fine too.

If you have a CLM with older firmware like 4.2C you have the G2 and Drive settings for each color temperature setting.
Put your Brightness at 40 or 50, any value where your G2 dont go out of range is fine.
Then put up the 5% IRE pattern from the HD Basic disc, adjust G2 untill you see the window on your screen, but dont elevate black around the window, when looking into the lenses.
When all 3 tubes look the same and the 5% look gray on your screen, go to the Reverse gray ramps & steps pattern, and adjust the drive setting to you get the best gray scale, with no color pollution.
Go back and check the G2, and repeat if needed.
If you only have the late Firmware with sub brite, ill suggest to set the sub brite to neutral, and go to the G2 menue, and never mess with the sub brite, as the G2 menu have adjustments for all 3 colors, sub brite dont.
Also make sure your player outputs 4:2:2 15-235, and you push the 0 on your moome remote, and then B for 0-255.
And you will use the full dynamic range of your Marquee, and clip black and white perfectly.

I'll try more later when the new moome card gets here, Kurt.
But for now I took the easy way out and just gave them some color.
A little less stiff looking and getting more and more life like with each step. It isn't until I see them side by side on a photo that I notice how pale they were before.
New settings
Red Drive 40 - Red Sub Brite 56
Blue Drive 57 - Blue Sub Brite 75
***************************
Old settings
Red Drive 37 - before 35
Red Sub Brite 56 - before 60
Blue Drive 59 - before 55
Blue Sub Brite 80 - Still 80
