If you have correctly set the focus to 72 Hz, one must start when you go to the frequency of 96 Hz
When I projected a pattern of 1:1 pixel at 96 Hz, I do not see real differences |
I would love to see that for real..

Thanks guys. I was trying to do Zone convergence and in doing so my one Iso Transformer kept kicking the over load circuit.
I run the Marquee's and my Linear power supply from it( two 5 volt outs and two 12 volts out for the Processors). It only happens when I do Zone contrast. I guess having a full felid white draws much more power. So i unplugged the Linear and went right to the wall. I was able to then finish up Zone. Man that messes all other calibration I did on the PJ and in the radiances!!!!! SO I keep learning more and more. So now I will do zone contrast first by eye. then I will Calibrate the Marquee's then calibrate the Radiance's.
Doing zone raised Black levels a lot so I now have Brightness down to 8 from 23!!! I need to figure out where to set Bright and Contrast after I do zone and then do a 2 point calibration in the Marquee then re check Zone I guess. But It looks good as is now with brightness at 8 and contrast at 67 Not a bright Picture but colors POP none the less.

Nash,

I really should come see that sometime Nash. I remember what the older blend looked like. This looks like a huge step up.

Still there but much better. It is my calibration skills with Zone contras that need work. Also waiting on TV one to get back to me with what type of Gamma curve they use for the blend zone adjustment. And I know id I had a better tri-stimulus meter like the Klein or even the Hubble i could get it even better.
I messed it up a little since the pics were taken doing the zone contrast. Warming it up now as we speak and will re visit it again. Electrohome describes a certain way of doing it but I forgot. have to read up on it. And this new CMM board is not like the old ones so who knows if the procedure is exactly the same, and this board I needed to a lot of cap filtering to removes some faint lines it had.
But even so watching movies is more pleasurable than when It was an AC blend, the LC chambers really help a LOT !!!

Ok Jeremy, I did a little tweaking by eye on the zone contrast, then went in and gave a little lumma adjustment for a couple % white values up or down just to see what it do for the blend zone. Still there but better. I need to start saving these profiles with notes incase I screw something up i can go back to them. But hooking up a laptop and switching around different RS 232 cables for the lumagens and CRT's is a pain. So i am taking my chances ! lol
I know for sure the Zone contrast altered the Overall Greyscale and CMS but not that bad. I can tell things need
to be re done but not for awhile or till i get bored.

Words can't describe how good those new pics look. And to think that these pics are only a representation of what the image truly looks like! Man I want me a blend but the cost puts its out of my reach. I'll just live vicariously through you Nash

Thanks Red, Blend is still there . I choose shots where you will never see it but it is there. Maybe 95% of the movie you will never see it but it is there. A blend needs Gamma adjustment at each % white level to be truly invisible. Curt was telling me of the Seos units that have a 6 IRE blend zone gamma and Greyscale adjustment but to do it you need the seos software and a special interface unit. So far I believe the is the best unit out there. If TV one got more serious about their blend units they'd add it . They were working on it but stopped due to not enough space in the FPGA for the separate IRE gamma. A shame for sure. I keep bugging them to add it in the future to new units but who knows.
But for now I am enjoying the best my theater has looked and for me that is all that counts.
