Its a 1031Q, but yeah for $60 I can't really complain. Now if only I could get the 1080i working. It will do it but I can't get my computer to agree with it. (I have the negative sync and everything set)

Athan, the secret to my super sharp image is no blue defocus, there are downsides to this as you have said, but I have a small screen and fought like fire to get my greyscale tamed without the blue defocus, I can't stand the blue defocus after I have lived with my PJ this way for so long, I tried it and could instantly notice it on movie credits, test patterns etc.
with a scaler like the Lumagen it would be a piece of cake to get rid of the defocus effects on the greyscale, sure its harder on the blue tube but who cares I don't I worked for 3 days on my blue tube and have got it as sharp as my green and red, my advice to anyone when they ask is to work just as hard on the blue as the others, it all adds up

Thanks Cliff, Every thing is going great!! I was working overtime on Andreas CLM's he wanted for me to do the cap and chip mods fro KBK's old post on AVS and my reincarnation of it on my Marquee thread here. Now that thats done I can get back to my own PJ mods and get them ready for the blend! Once thats done I think I'll have a small gathering here at my place.

Hey fishlogan,
How did you do 1080p on the G70? Didn't think it had the bandwidth or would at least look soft. Refresh rate?
Looks damn good BTW.
peace,
Mark H

hi mark
i used 48hz with the 1080p and 50hz with the pal stuff
ive grown up with pal and the flicker so it doesnt bother me that much. i tried 1080i at 96hz but just preferd the 48hz at 1080p. i was probable pushing the bandwidth limits on the projector but was just happier with the progressive 1080 over interlaced. the tubes were pretty new so the had a a good focus

fishlogan:
1080p48 requires the exact same amount of bandwidth as 1080i96
(btw, actual values should be 48/1.001 Hz and 96/1.001 Hz, while 50Hz is really 50.000 Hz)

Some of the scenes in Gone baby gone have more grain then usual even though the whole film I found to be grainy.
I did like the movie though.

I like the film grain. It adds to the presentation.
