Also these are from Blu-ray. I will do the same shots using the 4K version on the Barco tonight.

Oh, can you say if you notice an improvement when using 4K disk over the 1080P Blu Rays?

I'm playing with this Oblivion Blu Ray and may take a few more when it gets darker out. Right now there's too much light in the room. These are really quick shots and of course NO enhancements from me

I think the 4K has better edge detail. It seems to be finer making the edges look a little sharper.
These 2 shots of Oblivion look really good.

I was told something like those results would happen when using a good 4K source down scaled to 1080P.

And on those two shots. That disk is loaded with various ranges of finer detail material. I did touch up on center focus this time, but when I get back to that disk, it will be when I've really dialed things in better. Right now my setup is still far from being where it should be. But I think it's a perfect performance disk, it has a ton of really defined low light and otherwise great image detail. My video chain sucks it all up very well.. Mr. Green .. I just need to get the display to compliment and that will happen.

Envisioning your images right now as you made a good series of pix and wonder if any special boards have been used?

Anyway, number six, counted from the bottom, and the close up of one of the masters in command looks almost 3D. Must be good to see irl.

Keep up the good work. I'll join some day too.

It's board level work only, with me not doing anything to the projector at all. Just pop in a change and then noticed a difference in the image, and the need to finish the zone and outer focus on the setup. The center though not really dialed in either, really reveals a lot on the screen.

The shots look good, but what's on the screen is beyond expectations. And I'm only half way there, considering the setup has not been touched, only a quick eye-ball color balance after the board changes.

The 3D look I believe is the result of a more optimized video chain. What I see on the screen is amazing depth. I just think I'm seeing the Two Dimensional effect of properly resolving 1080P.

Anyway, I still have to wrap this up on the boards and then dial things in better. It's then I'm going to release the beast on the ceiling.

We'll talk..Wink

I'll work on the focus/stig this weekend, with hopes of the probe being accurate enough to get me a good color balance.

You certainly have that working well. When you compare the 1292 to the 919 whats the difference.

The 919 is sharper and has better depth. Its very3D. Its at the stage that I cant see anywhere I need to make more improvements. Very happy with it.

I haven't touched the VNB or driver board on the tubes of the 1292 yet. Also need to do a full ASTIG on green and blue.into. It has a lot of potential and is much better than when I started.
All the switching circuits has been bypassed. I now have semi ridged coax running to each neck board. The picture has very little noise in it now. Its a fun project.
