Ok, I understand your motives better now. You should reveal what your intentions are and not leve the reader clueless. Hence my question.
Good luck with the meet. | Getting there slowly but we will be ready on our end for sure.... |

I also prefer LUG's, but that was not my choice most of last year.
The LCP is a good CRT for general sharpness and over all brightness. The LUG produces a more fluid image, while at the same time being much better with background and overall image detail.
I would call the LUG to CRT for the best in 2D (depth, transparency) image performance. So it would be the absolute best CRT for native 1920X1080P image performance. But the LUG performs best at a lower drive level.
It'll be hard for me to go back to LCP's after experiencing the better virtues of the LUG CRT.
My setup at the time has a green LCP, with RED and BLUE being LUG. That allowed me to learn even more about the two tube sets, to include to see in direct comparison where the LCP falls short in comparison.
We've been tailoring a set of neck boards as being a perfect match for the LUG tube, and I'll try and demonstrate how well this combination would be different later this evening and do so even using that LCP tube on green. I plan to take a few fine resolution shots from a few Blu Rays, in hopes of showing in the shots something that's hard to see without this setup.
I got to focus the green LCP first. So for anyone wanting to show how good your setup is, these shots (2) would make a perfect reference and even a cheap camera can capture. It's really that good.

Below is a few quick shots, taking with everything as-is. The Green CRT has still not had anything done to it's magnetics, with only center focus done on both lens and static. Color balance is also way off, but I chose to take these shots to show what it looks like before I do a little something to it later and get back with a few more shots using only my Iphone as camera.
That would be a good time to post shots, but let me tell you up front, they will all be HIGH DEF shots (no closeups) that will be showing great clarity in the background of the image. And still I will not have the finer tuning done to the projector.

I still post shots to see what they look like on a forum. These shots are from my Simulator Video chain Mods that I've been working on. A lot of things are different about them, considering they have to be able maintain reasonable spot size at higher gain levels, to include not loose low level detail because of their higher refresh rate (104) where both bandwidth and Stereoscopic imaging (layers) will diminish low end detail. Projector far from being setup, but it still allows me to see what I need to see. These are not for - for commercial use only

Oh, and the sports stuff is from my $30 Ebay terrestrial tuner.
Any questions?

Guys
107" wide, nine feet. Stewart Snowmatte 1.0 surface.
The most gorgeous CRT projected image on the planet.
These are Marquee 9500s I retubed in 2005, and have logged maybe 5000 hours since.
Contrast is 53, and I go snow-blind on any advert that is white background.
Any questions?
