This thread is very inspiring... I got the idea, that we should open a new thread where everyone shares a recorded (with a microphone) sound sample off his rig, so we should compare whose sound system is better too!

OK, you go first. We'll need instructions on this, so show us how to do it.
btw, where are the comparison shots you spoke of?

I actually think of this post. So there was a screenshot done with an "unknown" camera and post process, and is critized by someone who watches the picture on an "unknown" monitor. Each of these has their own signal chain added to the original semi-unknown frontend. This is not a professional attitude.
It is nice if someone can take nice screenshots, but I hardly think we can conclude hard facts from that... the whole thing is just as pointless as compete sound systems through internet.

I agree Gabor. I never expect perfection of anyones shots , I only comment on things I know are from the PJ and not from a possible camera abortion, my monitor or anything else. Some things you can plainly see. But some here seem to have super vision and can see through the internet through the persons camera and end up sitting right in the persons theater.
I wish I had that persons ISP provider.

Just close your eyes and take a deep breath, then tell yourself it's a "Screenshot" thread on a FORUM. Meaning people are using cheap cameras to capture what's on a screen. And it also means especially since it's on a Forum, that people will chime in with their opinions. Much like what you originally posted in this thread (your opinion). And because you think you presented a valid perspective on the validity of the content of the thread, does that make you right, or should those who both post and come here, immediately take in consideration you're enlightening them on something they could have never figured out on their own.
Also, and what you did by expressing your opinion in this thread, is the same as those who Click onto the "Off Topic Forum" and complain about what is being posted there.
Or like going into the grocery store looking at foods you don't eat, but for some reason you must let the people there know what you think about it.
Or better still, next Sunday, I'll go to a Mormon Church and proceed to let them know that I'm having a problem with Joseph Smith being a God..
At the end of the day, It's still a FORUM.

IMHO not quite, I have no problem with the existence of this thread, and in fact I look in here time to time to see what's going on, that's how I got here post too.
It just caught my eye how a machine (or its signal chain) was criticized, solely on impressions of a screenshot.
I think I only posted a movie screenshot here only once. Kurt found my shot looking like very similar to a G90's picture, and while this is not a honour from his mouth, it actualy was that.
The picture was taken with my XG-LC (with its 30MHz bandwidth problem), and the source movie was a 720P compressed 4GB version of the 5th element, upscaled to 1080i-96Hz.
I must admit that screenshot turned out quite good indeed

I think you should look for the right things. The computer added distortion is the same for all pics you watch so you can say something about a pic looking off in colours compared to the others. Also I think the camera adds distortion so what you see here must be better in real life. Now everyone is free to take the best shots they can. Comparing those says a little bit about the setup and the crt I feel. Not everything off cause.
By example. Seeing Huggy's shots and comparing to mine on the same computer I realised mine where worse. And so I did better astig and the result was better.

Screenshots are fun, I enjoy taking them and look forward to seeing others pics as well, besides there isn't much else going on around here and thanks to Mike Parker at least this thread has been active

I have been playing with 1080p@48 on the XG. I am still trying to work out this screen shot art.

Thanks huggy,
How do you guys get the screen shoots so big. What program do you use to re-size? I am using office 2010.

Ok these are only cropped and not resized so there should be no "edge enhancements" we hope

Thanks Keith,
Nice pictures huggy.
A few more from the XG. I cropped them a little more due to the camera not sitting level on the tripod.
