Yeah, it finally compelled me to do something.. Smile

The green has a little, with the red already being replaced. Now I want consistency, because one or more is clearer than the other.

Yep, I need to make that happen soon.

Check this out.. I pulled the tube and replaced the glycol. But when I added a little distilled water to the mix, it clouded up. So I then figured it was a boot-leg distilled water, and that's why it did not mix right in as it usually does. So I immediately removed it all from the chamber, then went on to use something else that I had on the shelf.

Now see if you can guess what I now have in my blue CRT chamber.. Wink

Ok I wanted to show in this shot how well the PJ's converged together after one
CVA and VDM( right side) had its 'lytics changed out with wet tantalums. I now realize I
need to do the astig board as well. When I disconnect it from the CVA a sleight haze
or film is removed from the image. There is not a lot thereto begin with but it can be
seen after careful inspection. Usually I don't take a picture of this scene with the
blend because the blend zone is much more pronounced.

Here it is the best I have seen on this particular scene .

On this shot I'll post two sizes so you can see what a difference using a smaller size
does on Screen shots. They look sharper to my eyes.

1600x1200

And 2048x1536

And the left side PJ still does well with no mods to it.
But I can't wait to do that one as well!!!

Full size an all !!!!

What do you guys think?

Athanasios

Yeah, I agree. It's not your usual CRT image at all, because it looks more like a digital display, in brightness, sharpness and intensity. But it goes further, because it can produce incredible depth and low end performance.

I'll do a few more shots in a few, but will switch to another 02 VIM of a slight difference in intensity.... be right back

I have a 4k television in the living room now and after turning off all sharpness enhancements that make a movie very artificial there is still some smoothness and sharpness and detail left. I am wondering if the Marquee with these boards will do the same without the upscaling to 4k. But at first I thought no way we can do this with 1k but when i found out all the artificial enhancement where making the picture unnatural now I think those MP boards might do the same but with crt depth and perfect blacks.

When 4K finally happen in full bloom (some years from now), it will produce a phenomenal down-scaled image for CRT. This is when we'll see CRT shine. 1920X1080P is enough for the size screens we're using, and converting native 4K camera information to 1080P is going to be the perfect for a film like image, it would get us around the artifacts and distortions from conversion and motion.

Can't wait

It also seems the pc cards can do 1920x1440. You said these boards can too. Would there be some gain going a few lines upscaling?
