Hi,
Yesterday my Barco 1209s started losing the picture after few minutes.
Tried several times to power again, the picture was gone after a minute. No picture from the source and no picture from the internal as ‘Set Up” etc.

So I start replacing the spare modules one after the other (Used parts purchased during many years) after each replaced part I checked to see if the if the problem was resolved:
I start with the QUADRUPLER -> SPLITTER -> SMPS -> and then all the boards from the MAGNETIC FOCUS & HOR. SHIFT -> SM POWER SUPPLY 2 + G2.
But NO GO – no any picture.

After all I ( I had to check it first…..) checked the EHT (R7617427)and I find the 2A fuse was blown.
Replaced the fuse but once again the fuse blown.

I put another EHT (R7627165) I see a very small size picture appear ,So I replaced with another EHT (R7617427-03) , I heard some noises (similar to blown fuses ) I shut down immediately the Barco.

Replaced the EHT to another once but no picture (checked the fuse and they are OK).
Once again checked the SMPS (replaced with a spare one) but no picture.

Can it be that the EHT damaged the replaced QUADRUPLER or the SPLITTER ?

I will appreciate to any Idea how to proceed .
Thanks

Attached pictures from the Barco:

Check first if the red led on the EHT board is lit. If yes, the quad, splitter, EHT could be defect, or you have a shorted tube.
Aso, be aware that not each combination of mainboard/quad/EHT will work.

Hello Hulio,
Thank you .
Before you replied I already replaced once again the quad, splitter and the EHT.
I checked the EHT and one red led (in the attached picture) is on, do you mean this one ?.
I diconected the 3 cabels from the splitter and the Red led keep to be on .
Is there any other way to check if there is a shorted tube ?

Thanks,
In order to check and to reach the points you have mentioned , I should remove the Quad,
I understand that to check the points you indicate I should power on the Barco ?
Thanks.

So what I can check with the EHT removed is only the resistance ?

Hello,
Thanks for advices,
my original mounted EHT that keept blowing the 2A fuse looks different from the one in your pictures.
The EHT original pictureת is attached.

I have 4 spare EHT , one that looks indentical to the original and another 3 that looks identical as in your picture .

I installed and checked all my 4 spare but no picture, but I can see the a red led is on (in different place) depended in EHT one that is instaled .

Thanks for your support.

--------It seems that you need to check three tubes separately for short circuits?

How do you check the tube? do you mean to disconnecting the red cable coming from the splitter or from another place ?
