It made it through the SuperBowl but tonight it smoked. We were watching it and the picture went out. It was still running but the smell of burnt electronics was strong. It has to do with the Horizontal power supply but I have used up all my spare boards. I guess i am going to have to say good buy to it. Anyone needing parts? It does have a set of HD-10F lenses on it and red and green colored C-elements. The tubes have about 2000 hrs on them.

I see the G90's are starting to have problems as well. I think I am going to have to go to the digital side.

Did you pull out the deffective board? Can you see any burnt components?

i also thought my barco was dead after arcing that came from the HV splitter.
but didn't give up replaced it and back on.

Oh the board is smoked big time. It was running fine and then the smell of burning electronics and the fuse blown on the Horizontal power supply. I had another one but it was bad as well. I replaced the fuse but only had a bigger one. Well it did a big time fizzle and a puff of fire on the board. Not sure what caused the problem in the first place.

Hey now, I have a few. One holds down my projection cart and acts as a shelf for my HTPC, Another holds down my garage floor and stops it from floating into space.

The replacement has arrived. Still have set it up. It is a JVC D-ILA RS45U

That was my replacement too. I think you'll love it. Once you have a place to sit/hang the projector, setup will take about 5 minutes!

Funny enough, I've decided I like watching movies instead!! I had lots of fun & frustration with my CRTs, but after about 10 years of struggle to ever get a better-than-mediocre image, it's damn nice to just turn it on and have a fantastic picture.

You are correct. Once I got it in position, it took maybe 10 minutes to get all the settings dialed in. The picture is very nice. No visible pixels at all. Very clear and it was only $490 shipped to my door. It is in need of a new lamp. This one has 2300 hours on it.

I think I should get an award for making an AMPRO last this long. lol I am glad it made it through the Superbowl and I was able to get a replacement before Nascar cranks up.
I did debate with myself if I was going to try for weeks to resurrect it or just Change over to the light side. But I guess I waited long enough. This thing looks just as good if not better than the AMPRO.
But seriously I do have some desire able parts that I hate to throw away. HD-10F lenses almost perfect tubes and probably one of the last working HVPS for an AMPRO.
