I've been playing around with the idea of setting up two of my projectors together. Since edge blending doesn't play well with console and computer games, I've been thinking of just setting the projectors up side by side so the pictures meet in the middle with 0 blending zone. That would give me a 8:3 aspect ratio, and of course would show black bars on the sides when watching movies in 7:3 AR. I'm okay with that. i could also just crop of the top and bottom when watching movies.
Setting it up would be dead simple. Just extend desktop in windows. No specialized software or hardware required, other than a Windows computer. I wouldn't be able to run games or programs in full screen without using some special software, though.
I have found little to no information on this. Is there any reason why it wouldn't work? Is it really hard to get two projectors aligned side by side without overlapping?

Hello
What you are proposing is called tiling. If your computer can process every source signal you want to watch, that's nice. You will find it challenging to place the edges together with no error. Does the green convergence on your projectors offer one pixel increments of adjustment? Otherwise you will have a black line or bright line at the seam. Blending has the forgiveness of overlap, and small errors go unnoticed.

What Tim says is common belief and so i use an edgeblending setup myself.
But: I've never read from someone who tried it without blending as you propose.
You could use Nvidia Mosaic to create one large virtual screen using two projectors.
Powerstrip could help too pushing the edges of the two projections together.
I'd like to see pictures and hear your report after trying.
