Hello all. This my first post in a long while . Im an NEC owner... I think I killed it while moving it recently .
Im a little bummed out. My 6PG Xtra slid down a 4 step staircase and landed on the basement floor . It looks okay on the outside but will not power on . No signs of life ... I do have the service manuals and a multimeter. Ive removed the necessary covers to start diagnostics .. To be honest this is the first projector i have to diagnose ..its been great for over 12 years since I had it retubed in 2007 . Id like to save it if possible. Any pointers are appreciated. Thank you
Tom

Have you tried to look inside the set, if there is anything loose or broken?

Hello

I am concerned that the jolt of dropping it may have cracked a tube or broken an electron gun; I would inspect the tubes very thoroughly and look into the lenses with a flashlight.

My green tube is toast. When I power on with the rear button and the deflection board raised up i can see fireworks where the bell meets the stem of greencrt tube . Within seconds the unit powers off with both red lights flash on the deflection board. The error code shows Fd

Drat

You have either cracked the tube glass or the metal conductor from the anode attachment is loose.
