Hi,
a short update from my side.
I have installed the new moome internal card and i have no change in test pattern results with the external one. Although i have the impression that the image looks better with video. I didn't bypass any filters for the moment. The card is brand new and still under warranty.

I'm waiting for a friends Blu-ray player to try out and will first concentrate on the greyscale and gamma and will see afterwards if we can improve the sharpness.

regards,

Ron.

Don't worry about test patterns. Aim for best looking picture from a Blu-ray. You will probably find that the new moome internal looks better due to reduced noise.

Hi Nidi,

Sorry but I was so busy with work and family that i didn't have the time to look after it.

I hope to start again in a few weeks.

Regards,

Ron.

Hi everybody,

yes it has been a long time since i replied.

Things are getting forward slowly. Since a few weeks I have an oppo 103D player so now i have a good reference.

For the moment we are completely locked in at home and we can only go out for shopping food and emergencies and I'm working from home as well. It's really a freaky situation. The advantage is that i'm always home so more time for tinkering.

I didn't see much of an improvement with the oppo compared to my computer or internet box but the sound is now much better.

I use the analog out of the oppo and put it to my Cambridge audio 6.1 direct inputs and i can use the higher quality audio formats of the blue ray disk.

That's where i am now.

I have three things to check:

1.The bandwitdh problem.
2. Calibration of the projector
3. My old HDM that gives no full witdh image at 50Hz. I want to find what is the cause just out of interest and also if i use that one at least i can take any resolution and frame rate. The one i use now only works well at 50p.

I think i will start with item 2 first.

Regards,

Ron

3. no full width

have you tried to change the Retrace from short to long in the menu?

if that won' help. there's a resistor that can be changed on the HDM to give you more width.

as no one I know is using 50 Hz , it's going to be harder to find the right value for the resistor.

Hi Nidi,

I tried all that but is doesn't change it. it's the amplifier that get's saturated. Gjaki told me to look at the current feedback resistor and that I din't check yet.

Regards,

Ron.

cant you change the width by adjusting the coils on the hdm?

why arent you using a decent pc with a decent graphics card and with a nice sound card which has a digital output.
and go straight into the moome.

with the newest amd cards (several years ols and newer that is) you can adjust for all timings, with a rx580 toute facon Wink.
