Went to turn on the projector and Sad
I can hear a relay click twice in quick succession when pushing the power on button on the remote. At first I thought I hadn't held the button down long enough so I tried several more times and nothing. I then tried the power on button on the pj thinking the batteries in the remote were the issue and got the same result.
In between the two relay clicks the fans and the power LED lights come on then nothing after the second click. Is there a power relay that could go bad?
TIA
Tim

No, there is no such thing as a 'power relay' in the 1252. Under the cover is an 2 digit display that shows an error code. If it's ceiling mounted, you'll be reading it upside down. What does that LED display indicate? (location is shown on the main site in the tech tips area of the 12XX series)

Curt,
I'll pull the cover tonight when I get home and check the display. Is the error code continuously displayed?
Thanks,
Tim

I should have did what you said before I asked the question. I know where to look and where the error codes are.
Thanks.

Yes, once the set has powered off the display should stay on. Also check to see that the fans do spin up momentarily under the cover

Curt,
The error code is 13. Referring to the error code chart there is a Y for FAN stop, (H stop) 100V down and HV-over.
Does that mean a fan is out which affects cooling of HV power supply?
Best,
Tim

Possible, although it's more likely that the PA board or H board has failed. Still, check all 7 (?) fans in the set to see if they spin. There are two on the back of the power supply that you can't see, you'll have to pull out the power supply to check those. Do this with the set on a table, as it's a PITA to remove the power supply while it's on the ceiling.

Thanks for the info Curt. My thought after babying the pj along for the last 10 years is if it comes off the ceiling one more time it won't be going back up. Where is the PA board and H board located? What is their function? I don't see anything in the diagrams of the pj layout referring to those 2 boards.
TIA,
Tim

The H board is the big flat one under the top cover that is over top of the green and blue tubes (right under the top cover). The PA board is the one on top of the power supply under the lenses.

Curt, do you have any of these boards or are they repairable?

I should still have a working H board in stock. Not worth sending yours up, too expensive, and I don't have a 12XX projector any more to repair them.

Curt, you thought you might have a working H board. Have you had an opportunity to check? Also, you thought it could also be the PA board. Is that something that is attainable?

I will be gathering the required number of bodies to get the PJ off of the ceiling to check the fans this weekend. If I find any that are not functioning what is the recommended replacement?

If I find that the fans are functioning and I can't get the replacement parts then I will put the PJ on the Buy and Sell forum. The vertical board was replaced August 2016 and the tubes Feb. 2015. Maybe it can live on with someone else.

TIA
Tim

I have stripped one of these. I have all boards if Curt can't help you. The biggest problem will be the cost of shipping from Australia.

Yes, I do have one. Did you send me an email to curtpalme at shaw.ca? If so, I haven't gone through my emails recently to follow up. Will try to get to all of them by the end of the week.

Thanks mate! Looks like Curt has what I need but if something else comes up I'll look you up.
