How was the output bandwidth of the Barco Hybrid measured? What equipment was used?

Both Scott (VDC) and myself tested a 909 neck board. The Module used is a single ended design and that's why it uses very high voltage (180vdc if memory is correct). Barco told me themselves when I ws at the training in California they had the module designed and the bandwidth was considered. That made me believe any bottleneck would be in the associated circuitry.

Now concerning the measure bandwidth that we both agreed on. I won't post it here, but will simply say that it's not as posted.

He tested the board at VDC while I tested it here. But the results was very similar.

Thanks Mike. I just don't think from what I have been doing there is any evidence of the Hybrid being a bottle neck.

Explain this. Are we talking about a 909 and you not seeing a bandwidth limit below the rated bandwidth?

I don't see any particular reason to hide the results of the bandwidth testing on the 909's neck card at this point, since the
market for really ANYTHING in the way of modifications for such rare machines is pretty close to zero.

If you intend to offer enhanced bandwidth neck cards, it'd be a good selling point to define what the stock bandwidth is and how you intend to improve it, and to what level.

It might make sense to consider that information to be a valuable trade secret 10 years ago, but today? It's almost completely
of academic interest only.

I would feel better sharing it with you, but not posting it publicly. I wouldn't want to spook anyone that may own the projector. Sharing it with you would be a professional courtesy, and I agree to help you make any changes to make the video chain better. I know where the bottle neck is, and don't think its the module.

Since I don't own a 909 or any kind of Barco projector, for me that information would indeed be only of academic interest, for the time being.

That being said, I would like to acquire a 909 for the pleasure of having all three "top gun" 9" CRT units and being able to directly compare them and become conversant with all three chassis. I've got the Marquee pretty well figured out, I'm making inroads on the G90, and know pretty much nothing about the 909.

I've been trying to get your attention to answer this, and to get a response back from you on this. Show me the text or link me to a PM where I told you the boards would do 300mhz. It's been about two years since I've even tested for 300mhz. So I need to know why I would say that to you. Or did you need something to send my boards to Kurt to confirm this?

Why wait that long, haven't you already sent the boards to Kurt to check them out?

Quote:
seems to me your mods aren't even needed when comparing screenshots over there, they seem to be from projectors without any mods done to them at all , and really old burnt tubes and they look amazing.

This statement here is pure BS. They have never used old burnt tubes in a projector to show their shots, why would you even post something like this.

Again, the stock neck boards regardless of the SMPTE and which sets he cherry picks, they will never properly resolve 1920X1080P... that would also explain Greg stopped using Blu Ray and started doing Netflix. I knew immediately when he both posted and told me what he did a few days ago. he's really waiting on Gjaky Mods if the truth be told. And he has the same board system Kurt is using. The key to this was Greg and what he has both been posting and what he told me.

The Stock boards are a default platform. trust me, they have no intentions of staying stock.

Check this out (below) where Greg posted in "the Mod" thread. Where it clearly shows where his mind is. If in fact what they were saying about Mods last week on that forum, why are they also waiting on "MODS".Mr. Green

Kurt has been trying to get his hands on my latest boards. It was two of you he has been working on. Why, when you look at his comments on my boards, why would he be in such pursuit for them...Hmm

And bingo, you made that happen just as I had pointed out some time back, I was expecting that to happen..

If those stock neck boards were truly capable, why is Greg waiting on Mods? And why did he stop using Blu ray (1080P) to post his shots...hmm..Mr. Green

Oh, and I've decided before sending these boards out in the mist of all this nonsense, to calibrate the projector so that my customers will be able to see what they boards would truly be capable of. So this weekend should be a blast. And I'm still not going to spend a lot of time on the setup and focus. I really don't need a finely dialed in projector for it to be a top performer.

Works perfectly.
I would not be the best to ask for the exact areas of improvement , but I can tell you it is definitely better , the noise in the pic has been reduced and the general sense of depth has improved .

I have not had too much time to evaluate the boards, but enough to say this:
I think my AV screen now sets the limit for the PQ and of course my limited skills in setting up the projector to get the last 10% out of it.
Unfortunately (or not??) I now get too involved in the film to concentrate on the PQ. Laughing
I still need to do something about the grey scale as well.

Holehartely recommended anyway... Very Happy

Awesome look forward to more reviews and feedback with these latest boards.

The next boards I'll finish will be a set of ULTIMATE VNB-DB with the AD834. I hope I can finish them next week, so maybe I could post some screenshots soon too...

Great look forward to the possibilities of taking my projector to the next level. Tfhanks for your efforts on advancing cry projectors.

Mike, you should waer a tinfoil hat, you are so paranoid!

the last time your boards were taken out of my projector was when I shot a video for YOU to prove that they are still in my
possession. they have never, and I write it in B I G L E T T E R S , NEVER been sent out to anyone.
they were sent by you to my adress, I installed them, and they have been in there during all that time.

nobody is trying to get you, Mike.

please get that into your thick skull.

just a reminder:

Didn't you once say that you protected your work so no one can see what you did?
have you forgotten this. there's so much silicone on top of your mods that the boards probably would
break trying to remove it.
Please stop accusing people of things they didn't do.

you already pissed me off, do you want to piss off the little customers you have left?
Oh yes, didn't you tell me that I was the only customer that got your mod?
did you forget that too?

You've lost me, due to accusations that hold NO water.
Do you want to lose potential customers too, the few that are still left?

please stop accusing people

as said, no boards were sent out to anyone. no one visited to have them check out.

the only times your boards had to be taken to others *and that does not include your latest) was to correct your
soldering work because the VIM didn't work , pins bent, component pins broken , ...

Why not do like my other customers, when they have a question or problem, the contact me the same way they did before the question. They don't ask me questions on threads that I may not even read. Posting about something that's not a problem, nor can be associated with an agreement I've made. And take things further by further posting that you'll have the boards checked and will post the results here or over at the Anti Forum, where this seems to be the daily agenda.

So not once contacting me appropriately, as to get my attention. And when I do response back in the thread, you take your time to answer. And when you do, you're speaking the exact same Kurt seems to have also programmed you to say.

Also, did you not see the quoted response from Greg, where he said you should have your boards tested for proper tracking. And did you not respond back to that saying there was no need it was only a question, one that was already answered be me, but you instead seem to be waiting for something else.

Look man, this childish nonsense you guys seems to keep posting, when you never ask the person appropriately, nor do you ever do so my other and proper communications means. So if one wonders what's going on, maybe it has more to do with the record and the events associated with the juvenile nonsense that has been going on these past days.

saying you're going to have something you got from me evaluated and post on it elsewhere should have been received how?

And to question the boards against already knowing from experience with you sending me stock boards, that after they were modified, you PRAISED the results... "SUPER SHARP" was what I had in the PM I got from you. Now how is it that you can go over to the other forum, and somehow believe that stock boards can be made to be better than what you have by not doing anything to them, to then question what you have got from me with the results you claimed -from stock to modified.

So do the boards have a real problem or are you suffering from collateral affects from hanging on that other forum where you're being to sound just like Kurt.

If you're having a problem with the boards, contact me directly, not on another forum where you'll not find me. Nor post on an open forum in a threatening spirit, as to bring attention to something you're really not having a problem with. BTW, what is your real motive in posting in the first place...is there a problem with the boards, considering you have have such great results so far.

Mike, the only one who is childish is you.

I say it again: No one has received 'your boards' , analyzed or even had interest in your boards. NO ONE!
I did have contact with this person you're accusing me off for setting up the projector amore than 5 months ago.
as soon as he found out that I ordered your latest mods , he didn't want anything to do with setting up my projector.
He flat out reacted like you now. too much hassle, he said, to correct your work before it is even usable.

Mike, you know all the problems I had with your boards, I even sent you pictures, but I guess you had your
problems back then and might have forgotten this.

yes, the last mod is Super Sharp, that is true, by looking into the lenses directly.
I didn't have a chance to fully enjoy them yet, and I told you that.
I don't want to have all the excuses you seem to be having , when showing screenshots
that's why I posted to do a full setup at the end of the month and as it happens, will be able to compare yours vs a competitor , the better one stays in the projector.

What's wrong with that?

Is anyone interested in the results?

Don't say you guys, I have nothing to do with your problems with the OTHER guys, whoever you think they are.
it's your paranoia kicking in again.

In what way am I threatening you?

This is so funny. I have emails saying otherwise concerning you-know-who.

I sure have forgotten this, or it never happened, based on how many times you have gotten boards from me over the years, I'm sure we can conclude what really happened here. Otherwise it would not make sense for you to have been so devoted. And let us just add this little tid-bit. Late last year when you contacted me about getting the mods, you also did so while I was also under the same attacks that's been going on since separating myself from you-know-who early last year. But do recall one time there was a real problem, but nothing big as you indicate. At least you had forgot all about it until you became friends with you-know-who.

What excuses? What are you talking about, I've been doing things exactly the same way for the past 15 years. In other words, I've always posted my shots as they are on a setup that was never really calibrated. I did it that way to show what things look like without it being fully calibrated.

By excuses could you mean a so call competitor placing my shots next the theirs without my permission, and showing what two no where near equal shots in setup would look like, because one projector is tightly calibrated and setup while my shots is as it has ALWAYS been posted for the past 15 years.

You seem to think this is fair?

Oh, and the reason I've been under so many attacks, has more to do with my competitor NOT selling any mods in comparison to the sales I've had. And a lot of them are well known of. Not sure why you keep saying no one wants them when that's far from being true.

Just think, if things are really so bad with my work, why are they devoting a daily attack strategy to keep me from moving more boards...you would think based on what you guys keeping trying to convey, that my competitor would be leading the pact without having to shoot me down on a daily bases.

Again, I have six customers right now. Four boards going out soon, two more to do later. Oh, forgot, make that three more to do later and I'll be taking a break soon and that's why I announced a few months ago I'm on break from doing anymore for awhile. But don't blame me, you guys must have not being getting the word out, because they keep contacting me, much like what you did some months ago. And even during that time, this same competitor was pushing their mods, yet you purchased from me twice in two months....don't blame me!

And when was the last time you may have had a problem with boards from me, are we going back maybe ten years?

And yes, they want those boards, that I do know for sure. You can play it the way you want with the potting material all you want.

[quote]Don't say you guys, I have nothing to do with your problems with the OTHER guys, whoever you think they are.
it's your paranoia kicking in again[\quote]

Yes, you guys is correct. You have joined the other two in their persistent attacks on me. And these same people are who you're going to have setup your projector, and the best boards are supposed to stay in your projector. Question, how did you get caught up in something so ridiculous. Look, even some of the same people who are also alright with that group, they are still Ok with me, we still talk and everything. You are the only one that's foolish enough to attack someone when they have neither done you any harm, created any problems for you, or still could not render the same foolishness towards you, even with your needlessly attacking me.

That's called maturity. mature adults don't waste or spend time needlessly attacking others, or would get enjoyment out of doing harm to anyone. And in this case; Defamation

Quote:
In what way am I threatening you?

You pose no threat at all, and why would you think somehow you're a threat. If with all the work that has went into making me look bad this past year and still I'm getting all the few sales that's left. How would I be feeling threatened?

Ive even asked them if it would help them move what they are doing, I would not sell mods for awhile in hope to allow them to get something going. They told me no, no need for me to do that. So, if me walking away won't help, why would you think you being thrown in for public attacks would be a better sales solution.

Hey, I'm ready to walk away. If you guys were better at what you're doing, maybe I wouldn't be a problem by now. Because it should be a real simple one, but instead and all they have produced is promises of boards and better boards than what I'm doing. almost a year later, we still waiting on someone else, to produce something they said they would make happen...and you talk about my mods and me making things happen..Rolling Eyes

At the end of the day, if all you got after all this time is a set of stock neck boards and still using my VIM in your shots, then you think it's a good idea to attack me. Or let me put it this way, you think maybe my customers sticking with me would have more to do with me having proven that I can make things happen, opposed to the ongoing threads, forums, and post talking about something that has yet to happen. I'll have you know there is a difference between holding out a rod and the sea divide itself, opposed to standing on the pier and trying to convince the water to depart. Hey, Ive made it happen.

I can say however that I have lost a few customers, but both are still alright with me.

No one is interested in my mods...Lol..really..Mr. Green

Edit:

let me also say I will still keeping doing mods as long as I'm asked. Just taking a break for now but will still be dealing with my customers on a different level.

It's not assumptions.. I know and they know because I have mentioned somethings to them I found out from others. Some people they are alright with, don't agree with how they do things and their conduct. That is also why I pulled away. It wasn't paranoia. Because the same conduct proved what I was told to look out for.

If you somehow stay with my boards I will still honer the warranty as if we never had this conversation. My hope is that you never put my boards in the other person hands other than to install in your projector and that I would have never agreed to, but knew it was going to happen.
