Does anyone know if dbaisey is still around on any site? I am trying to find some information on the NEC quail lenses for my projector. There is virtually none to be found. Curts site mentions them, but tells me no specs. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that Doug has passed on a few years ago. That's all I know.

Sorry to hear that he passed away. Is there anyone who might know the specs on the Quail lenses?

But what specs you need about them, but more importantly what do you want to do with the specs? Put them up and see if you can focus the center and the edge.

Was wondering what Image size they were made for as well as wanting better focus on the outer edges. I will be installing the green to see what it looks like.

I'm not SURE but I think that lens is made for curved screens and not very big ones at that.
Adjust it for minimum focus, move the screen to the point of focus in the center of the image, see how big the raster is.
Then adjust for maximum focus and repeat. Yu will now know the screen size and distance limitatios on the lens.
Repeat the process with edge focus (if there IS an edge focus adjustment) at both extremes. Find out where it focuses
relative to center focus.
Documentation on most of the "bird series" 3M lenses is very sparse. So TRY the lenses out and then you'll know.
Take notes as you do your evaluation and that information can then be added to the "all about lenses" thread.
