I'm not seeing any SMPTE pics, either.

They are posted over on AVforums/worldwide crt projector shootout. The thread is a 2 man show. Anyone who may disagree with their perspective will be beaten down and belittled. Good luck.

What's even the point of posting such things on another forum?
When it comes to CRT there is only one forum that has any relevance and it's this one.
None of the others matter and I don't visit them.

If you do not want to see the patterns then I guess you are SOL! I agree that this is the last bastion for CRT followers. Their attitudes and morals towards others have forced them to find other alternatives/site. Good luck to them.

I USED to visit the other forums, such as AVS, and there was a time when it was the place to go for CRT, but things changed
and not for the better and that's why this forum even exists.
The other forum(s) became too political and too bound up in rules and restrictions and I much prefer Curt's site,
where you have to try really, really HARD to get banned...but it has happened.
With the CRT community as small as it has become today, it would make a lot more sense to me if we all ended up
on ONE site to share information rather than several.
But with there actually having been some people being banned at this site, I guess there is a need for a second place
for them to go to share their knowledge and opinions.
What causes people to get banned here? As I see it, it's when people start getting into wee-wee measuring contests
and arguing about whose mods are better and who is a better businessman. Or people who just go into flame mode and get
stuck there. Or, of course, commercial spammers, who SHOULD be banned, every time, all the time.
Let's stick to the enjoyment of the CRT hobby and post your best pics of your best projector's best images and then relax, don't worry, and of course, be happy.

You're a good man Chris. What you say makes sense. Some of the screen shots need to be identified for comparison. I have a hard time figuring out where (title) the screen shots came from. Hope all is well for EVERYONE.

Guys,
He posted his screen shots in this forum too. It's just that he did this in the screen shot thread. Being Mike's playground, he almost immediately did post new ones of his own and Greg's got shifted upwards...

Damn. That actually read that I purposely posted shots to make Greg's shot go away..
Now that is the stupidest chit Ive read in a long time... Be mindful, that I don't get into these pissing contest, nor will you find me participating in any of that childish bs that's been a perpetual problem on these forums lately. The thought that I would do something so childish is an insult to me.
If I post in the screenshot thread, it's simple because I'm posting in that thread. It's something I've been doing for the longest (years). Just look in the thread itself before you accuse anyone of doing something so stupid.

Hi,
Feel free taking it the way you want although it wasn't meant as an insult or accusation. The remaining fact still is, that any other person's screen shots aren't easily discernible between the vast amount of yours. And the thread's title doesn't read 'Mike's screen shot thread', or did I miss something?
I'm just stating facts. You know that I don't have a reputation being some kind of 'sh*t stirrer'. Of course, Greg could have posted his screen shots over here, just as the other participants seem to have expected it, but he chose to post them in the general screen shot thread, just as its title suggests it...
Regards,

Look man, the thread is there for anyone to post shots. That has been the case for a many year now. Your statement is baseless because you accuse me of something that has been going on for years now. so all of a sudden, Greg post a shot, the shot is no longer visible because someone else started posting shots...now, the question I should ask is if someone else had posted shots, or if several other people had posted shots randomly on that thread, would you have listed all of their names and accused them of trying to blob out Greg's shot?
Why can't you just look at the thread the way it has been going forever, and that is anyone can post in that thread at anytime they want, without any permission or grant. But when I started posting a series of shots, I had a motive..
Why don't you contact Curt or Kal, and ask them to put a restriction on the screenshot thread, that reads, "when Greg post a shot, do not post for five days because Greg's shot needs to stay on the front page for a period of time", or ask them to lock the thread once Greg post his shot..
Or Greg or anyone else can open a brand new thread and put their shot (s) in a dedicated thread, if they're concerning about it not staying on the front page.
Otherwise, just accept things the way were for the longest. I'm only doing what I've been doing. Again, I don't play those stupid games period

The point was I just had my projector set up for 4 day's and the that person
does not want his work posted so I forced to to honor his request. I am staying out
of any controversey and say what you want but this is my last reply on this subject.

I've stood by (quietly for the most part) and have watched this small CRT community dwindle down to barely a spark anymore. There's a lot of reasons why that happened in a short time and needless to say its complex. The sadest part is that a rift exists between two of the people who have done the most to move what's left of this hobby forward over the past few years.
Interesting that CJ talked about the politcal crap that stalled out AVS. The same stuff happened in the OT forum here and many individuals who were significant contributors were banned, have left or simply don't bother to post anymore. Unfortunately, I don't see this forum improving anytime soon.

Then you should not have started a thread about "new" boards for the Marquee if you don't want to show what they can do quality wise. But wait, there is only 3 sets available, so you are off the hook. Maybe someone else can take the boards and market them appropriately.

Well I think that when this thread started MP's mods were part of the plan but with the falling out between Mike and Greg the focus shifted solely to other options that are still in the beta phase.
I'd imagine all of this drama is hard for the casual observer to follow. It really would have been something to have Craig, MP and Kurt in the same room at the same time. Throw in Tim and Chris Stephens and it would be like the All-Star assembly of CRT.
Hey, one can dream

I'd say with the toxic attitudes from certain individuals it would be a "All Star Brawl". Anyhow, there is nothing more to say or view regarding these Super Mods.

The very idea that someone would not want his mods shown on a particular forum, and the one that arguably represents the largest potential customer base, is frankly not something I can easily wrap my usually flexible mind around.
I don't claim to have made any contributions to the group of CRT enthusiasts that is as significant as (first) Mike Parker's performance enhancement modifications, or (second) the Moome cards, both DVI and HDMI, that have absolutely become the standard and mandatory accessory for any CRT enthusiast, but I have attempted to contribute anything I have found that even has the potential to deliver a better picture, the Frankenyoke concept in particular. While it is not always a concept that meets lofty expectations in every instance, that has been primarily because the Frankenyoke experiments have been, until only fairly recently, conducted under empirical evaluations rather than a more scientific basis for analysis. I have gained a better understanding of what is required to improve and optimize focus performance but rather than make money on it, at every step along the way I have been entirely free and open with my knowledge and findings. I have never seen Frankenyokes in any iteration to be a significant generator of revenue combined with a low labor commitment for me, so I've simply given it to the world.
I do find it quite funny that on another forum there's a guy who actually has the nerve, the gall, the chutzpah to be using the screen name FrankEnyoke and he never so much as even sent me a note and asked for permission.
Sorry, whomever you are, no, you didn't earn that screen name and you SHOULDN'T have taken it without at least sending me a note about it. I'd probably have said, sure, go ahead, I don't care, but that he didn't do that frankly kind of comes across as a bit of a (nickname for "richard" move.

And what made you think you had the right to call me out like that when everyone knows I am all for the frankenyokes. You were flattered that you wanted me to try out the Barco vs Marquee yokes and yet you don't even read the other sites other than this. I have no interest to undermine your authority and sent you multiples of PM:s thanking you for the concept. So make no mistake I am grateful. I take it you are unhappy that I don't see scanlines with 800 p.. did it occur to you that I haven't aimed to go look for them with magnifying them to be shown? I'll bet they are there! Or could it be that I am so f*ck*** up I will never get them no matter how much I spend tweaking those bloddy magnets.

A) Okay Chris, I'll include you on my list of CRT All-Stars for the Frankenyoke concept
B) Wolfie drinks a lot of beer so it could be a long time before he dials in those magnets
