|

Hey gang, someone made up a set of 96 pin extensions for the 96 pin DIN connectors as used in marquee and Barco projectors. It may have been JohnHWman in France, I've emailed him as well.
My cables are finally intermittent, and I need new ones made up. Problem is, everyone that I've contacted so far online can't make them up.
Does anyone have the tools or a good supplier that can make up some female to female 96 pin extensions?
thanks!

I may have some spares for you. Let me check.
I don't think you actually need all three rows of pins populated, do you? I seem to recall that only the outer rows are used.

Nope, need all 96 pins done separately. The BArco 909s and Sony G90s use all 96 pins, while Marquee doesn't. I've got a bunch of Marquee extenders.

The connector series is DIN 41612. That should help in finding the extender cables you need.

Hi,
As those are extenders, shouldn't they have am male and a female end in order to provide a 1:1 transferral of the signals?
Can You make a picture?
The connectors are easily available over here. So it only should be a matter of work and precision...

I'm sure somebody has the connector press. The ribbon cable isn't hard to come by, either.
Whomever has the right connector press will be able to get the parts.

Barclay, whomever made up the originals made a M-M tiny PC board, so I could use either M-F or F-F cables. I'll keep emailing companies, so far no one can do it.

I was able to find extender CARDS, but I'm not sure that you want cards. Having extender cables gives you much more
flexibility to lay the board down on the bench surface while testing.

Curt, email your requirements to this email address:

They will probably be able to help you. But at what cost? I don't know.

The cable and connectors exist and are readily available, I would assume you could get by with a vise and maybe a couple chunks of aluminum as a press.

OK, that explains it.
I could fabricate these 96-pin extensions for You (M - F, 32pins each Row, 3 Rows, 0.1'' pitch) using small PCBs for the connectors, ribbon cable and soldering them together. I do have a proven method for avoiding mechanical stress on the soldering points which will ensure ruggedness. How long do You need them and how many?
