Looking for a tv for the bedroom, 55" or so.
Is it worth getting a 4 k model over a 1080p? I'll be watching Roku box & dvd's.

Probably not, though in that size, it's getting harder to find 1080p sets, and the 4K set pricing is coming way down. What's your viewing distance in the bedroom, Larry? Eyes to screen.

Ah, OK. That's far enough away you you'll gain very little to no benefit from 4K. You should just focus on other aspects of picture quality, the feature set you want, and the price.

It's not gospel, and people frequently use his charts to try to suggest that almost nobody can benefit from 4K (which isn't true), but looking at it you can see that at nine feet or so, you probably won't be able to tell much (if any) difference between a 1080p and 4K display - if they're sitting side by side. At 12 feet, forget it - they'll look 100% identical.

Thanks, I've seen some good prices on 1080 sets. I'll probably get one. I'll be checking out Costco
