Hi guys; i need your help on this Vizio M421VT LED TV, one of my last finds,and i'm trying to save it from going to landfill;
i have this screen pic attach.,
also there is no sound.

I haven't worked on a lot of Vizios, but typically it's the main board that's gone bad. Doesn't look like a bad LCD screen or driver board to me. It's not worth doing.

Thanks curt Palme; i have made a Utube video,i've got hold of a remote control and was able to set chan-3 and i get sound and the scrambled pic.
sometimes when i plug from the wall it gets the vizio logo blinking then a few pugs in and out from the outlet i can get pic scrambled and sound,
well i would be happy if it was not the screen, no money now for a main board that is being sold for 130 dollars which is out of the question for now,maybe i come across a cheaper a board in the future

Vizios are known for bad motherboards. Note that even if you find a used motherboard for cheaper, it will most likely fail the same way again. Do a search on this forum for exactly that story on another Vizio. Guy replaced the power supply for $100, that wasn't it. Finally found a CPU/motherboard for $130. That fixed it, and 6 weeks later it died again, same problem.
Throw it away, it's not worth doing.

Find some 2007-2009 LGs or Samsungs. A lot of those have bad power supply capacitors, and I call it my 12 minute fix. 8 minutes to take the back off and on, and 4 minutes to replace the bad caps. makes them as good as new!
Sonys over 42" have lots of screen problems, lines, rolling and weird colors, which are also throwaways.

If you are going to scrap it sell the stand on Ebay. Stand usually go for $30 - 40 bucks.
If you decide to fix it, try the main board on the right side in your picture first provided you can test the power supply to see if the voltages from the power supply are OK

Thanks i've got tv running i did the BGA chip heating, i don't know for how long,
i applied the same method as the Ps3 YLOD fix tutorial just by heating first bottom side with low heat then with high heat the heat sink , let it cool for an hour then put it together and voila it's running for now,i also added 2 small 5 v fans connected to USB.
