If I recall correctly they are based on the original plain HD-10 lens and they are designed for curved (torus screen) "R5M" means 5m radius for the torus, there were an R10M version I believe. The plain HD-10 lenses are not known for their greatness amongst the 9" lenses.

I had a set HD10-R5M.ABU on my 909. Projection distance about 3-4 m, flat screen (wall), center focus was good, corner focus also was no problem. It was a quick & dirty setup, so no idea how they compare to HFQ900, didn't check for scanlines.
From "HD10Specs.pdf":
"The HD10R5M lens is designed for improved resolution utilizing a curved 4 meter diameter screen application. It is designed for magnifications of 15-70X. This lens is designed for Simulation applications and thus was designed for a domed screen."

Phosphor width is when vertical maxed out about 14 cm, so screen width about 210 cm to 980 cm should be in focus range. Correct me, if I'm wrong

I tried these lenses on a flat screen, and the corner focus was a mile off. How flat is your screen? Very Happy
