100% pure silicone is clear, black is ok too, either one is fine. The orange stuff and all colored versions have additives for automotive use, gasoline/oil resistance, fireplaces, etc.

If your doing tubes you don't want to buy little tubes in cardboard sleeves, get a 10 oz. tube and put it in a caulk gun, you will have enough to do all 3 tubes amd more and it will be much easier to control and apply in a precise manner. You want pure silicone GE #1 or other original silicone with the Acetic acid curing catalyst . Do not GE #2 , it will smell better but takes forever to cure

I use Permatex ULTRA Grey. Itll never leak, and its good stuff.

DO NOT use it on HV leads though, or ULTRA Black. Theyre somewhat conductive.

Ive never ever seen GE stuff here in Australia, not even electrical wholesalers stock that brand, so i doubt youd see it on the shelves in the UK either, being that its an American brand, so is Permatex, but its also more widely used in the automotive industry, hence available as an OEM product.

I went with the Dow Corning 781 transparent, hopefully it should be ok.
