are you referring to the stripes, AKA "Scan lines" , as noise or is there a different noise your talking about?
If it's just scan lines, that's normal. When resolution is lower the retrace lines get bigger and more visible.

yes my noise is indeed scan lines, so that's normal ok nice! but i never had it with a standard dvd player on scart weird Confused

after watching a standard dvd movie called 'burried' i got pritty pissed off! because it's a dark movie i noticed scan lines on 1080i. After all good settings on 1080i i had to abandon it Crying or Very sad
with much greef i tried 720p and voilá the scan lines where no longer there Thumbs Up
but still i prefered 1080i's spacial resolution. 720p on blurays is ok but not as good as 1080i, but dvd's look great!

You have to scale the dvd to 1080i. What player do you have?

samsung with no option to set resolution when scaling helaas Crying or Very sad
the only way to help my problem is to set blurays on 1080i and dvd's on 720p (switching between resolutions)

after some tweaking (again Mad ) i'm still not confinced why 1080i is favoret above 720p i see no diffrence.
I'm outputing 1280x720p@60hz for blurays and dvd's 1280x720p@50hz. Even the dvd's look better!
only thing i guess is the straighn on the pj is maybe a little bit more Confused

No, you can't use the harmony remote. Most likely, your Barco has the old style remote control. Those works with PPL protocol, wich use high frequency band. Somewhere mid. 2000 Barco switched to RC5 protocol, wich is the common IR system for all electronics devices, nowdays.
Post a pic. of your remote.

Yeah, that's the old style one. But if you find a broken BV708MM or Cine 7 you can make your 701 compatible with the new remote. All you need is to change the RWI chip on the controller and the IR receivers. Plus, ofcourse, a new style remote.

and the remote because my lenses have some kind of cristals growing between the lenses (not on the tubes), and my remote is not always responding to my commands
