Check to see if the tube filaments are glowing normally. It sounds like they may be going out, or are not lit.

You have Barco 808 (no "s") I suppose.
If yes there are no problem to use P16's instead stock 180DVB22's
The tubes have same pinouts.
So the issue are elsewhere.
Where are you from?

Sounds like an SMPS problem. Check your voltages at the various test points. Search the site there is ample information on this.

THe tubes should be compatible. Are you using a 7621705 or 7621706 power supply in the set?

yes,i am using R7621705 .
i try 3 SMPS boards and i get same issue>no picture
I thought if there was a power problem the red LED of the focus board or the red led
on EHT board was light on.
mine is light of and all green leds are light on.
red led on EHT board is light of...

To eliminate the SMPS you should check the necessary voltages. If they are OK you can rule out the SMPS. Until you do that you can't. You have an issue that is difficult to trace so you really need to take a methodical approach otherwise you could simple be substituting parts that have different issues and never find a solution.

There's no way that THREE power supplies have the same problem, especially when the main problem is that they go dead. Don't bother checking the voltages except for the 17 volt test point, covered in the Barco section of the main site.
Measure the 6.3 volt filament right at the tube socket, and if your meter can measure 1000 volts DS, measure the G2 voltage at each tube socket as well.

Thats great advice Curt. Do bother checking but go check anyway. Its definitely possible that all three PS have out of whack 17v and filament voltage as you point out due to age if nothing else. So yes check those.

Maybe, but not for the problem described. Now I'm trying to narrow down WHAT voltage is missing at the tube. Low filament or low/absent G2 can do this. The fading out part is what has me puzzled. That's not normal Barco behavior.
Once I get some readings off the tube socket, not at the power supply, but at the tube socket, then I'll know more.
