Well, as it says, can one use Maglev bearing fans in a CRT? I suspect there is very little stray flux from them, but I have not the tools or inclination to measure it.
Specifically, I want to put 3 maglevs in the belly of a Marquee 8500. The fans move 116 cfm each per minute, which is a great deal more than the original fans. Between the 3 they run up about 50dB.

Hi,
Why not? I replaced my belly fans too (I put in some Dark Wings from beQuiet). As most of the replacement fans will work with 12V instead of 24V, you will need a voltage regulator or DC/DC converter.
You may want to take a look at my photo album where I left some pics of the modification. I didn't use a voltage regulator. As I wanted to add a fourth fan anyway (mounted on the large heat sink), I put two groups of two fans in series...
