Sure thing.

Now one more thing. And listen to this carefully.

When you get all the parts and have them installed....... DO NOT TURN ON THE PROJECTOR UNTIL YOU GET BACK TO ME.

Don't even plug it in. I want this machine started a certain way. I will explain later after the repairs.

I will do this, I'll probably have the parts somewhere next week.

One more thing before I forget. Test those new resistors before you install them. Hopefully they wont be to far off spec..

what do you mean by offspec? if i get the 75k ohm 2 watt resistors i should be getting the right ones, not?

There is a tolerance rating on resistors. So when you get the new ones they may not measure exactly 75kohm. Just how far off will be the question. So measure them first before installing them to see just how far off they are. Hopefully it will be an acceptable amount.

Not critical by any means so just pick.

What is acceptable tolerance for this application? 5% or so?

Depends if your talking about the cap or the resistor.
And before you answer that, think about the question a little and then post your thoughts on a answer to your own question.

the answer is probably "as low as possible"
i ordered the resistors (which have a 1% tolerance and are 75k ohm and 2 watt)
i ordered the tantal 2.2uf but they lacked 35v so i ordered 50v, this should be fine because higher voltages dont really matter.
its just the max voltage the cap can have before it fails.
as a replacement for the lm320t-12 i have contacted TI, they advised me to use the LM7912 (TO-220) which also has -12
so i ordered that along with the required fuses.

parts should be here somewhere next week, ill put them in and contact you mac, before i do anything else.

Did you recheck the short status with your DMM after installing the RGB board?

i did, it reads .435 on the -20v line, so no short there.
