Just remember there are two power switches on the Ampro's. One by the mains plug and the other on the remote.

Enjoy! That sounds like an awesome deal!

the reliability issues of the older Ampros were pretty much solved by the time the 3600 was made, so you should be in good shape> The manual is well written. Oh, you should get a DVD test disc with test patterns on them. It's much better to use an external test pattern to converge the Ampro rather than the internal ones. Maybe the seller has an AVIA test disc or Video Essentials that he can throw into the deal?

actually i dont know exactly what else he has with it, he is selling it for a friend on a commission.
that friend was the original importer of the ampro CRT machines for the Netherlands and the EU.
he told me that he's been trying for a year to get it sold, no one offered up anything.
told me he was tired of holding on to it and that he wants it gone to create some more space for other things.

i have a spears & munsil disc for calibration, ill play that via PC on rgbhv if the internal patterns dont work.

The internal patterns do work, but you can get it perfectly aligned with them, go back to the source, and the convergence will be off a bit. I actually had a Sony g90 do the same thing yesterday, something I'd never seen before with the Sonys. All Ampros do it though, for some reason there's a difference between the internal test pattern and the source material.

If you have an active source running, you can push "TEST 4" and the projector will genlock to the source resolution for setup. And i have found it pretty accurate.

test 1 produces a 15khz pattern
test 2 produces a 32khz pattern
test 3 produces a 62khz pattern
test 4 produces a variable pattern based on external source.

Although keep in mind that most of these sets were in clean rooms, if not literally a hospital type clean room, then at least a boardroom that had no dust. You did say that was a demo unit though, right?
