The electronics on the 1209s should fit better than the 808 for HD 1080p@72 signal, isn't it?

If you want to push things that far.

Bit of misinformation in this thread. both the 808 and 1209s are rated at 1200 lumens. The image is NOT brighter, and only select cards are the same. Most are different and not interchangeable. The big difference is the video stage (depending on your model of 808, it may be the same), the tube size and LC lenses. Well worth the upgrade. I am getting in about 800Kg of Barco 1209s and parts in, if you need anything...

If you have the G808, not the G808s, then the video boards are different too, as is the HV section.

I have the 808 and I can only keep the port3 board modified by Greg Eisemann (with HDMI ports) for my future 1209s.
I will have to sell the others not compatible with the 1209s...

What are the boards most frequently broken on a 1209s? Quad? EHT?

What about the lenses?
What are the best lenses for a 1209s (for a 3m width screen)? I should get the HD-300 with the 1209s, but my BG 808 has HD-144. So which color corrected (Filtered?) ones should I get in order to get the best colours?
