Yes it seems they have the same curve to the edge when you look at them. My gt17 seems more spherical up front.

You should know that Laredo is a border town. I don't know how it is now, but a couple of years ago there was a lot of drug wars going on. You should be fine on the US side of the border, but I wouldn't venture into Mexico.

"Laredo" was my favorite western TV show as a kid.
All you need to know about the city of Laredo can be found by watching this TV show:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laredo_%28TV_series%29

And the movie Scarface. lol

Good luck, I'm out. Smile

Wow, that's two weeks away. Did you get them to hold them for you until you arrive, or did you make other arrangements to move them from the liquidation facility and hold them until you arrive?

I have no plans selling anything yet, might have a few friends who will get a Marquee if they are in decent condition.

I called them and asked nicely if it was possible to give me a few weeks extra to arrange packing and pickup. They were so nice to approve that.

I just informed them when ill be there.

Now i just hope to see 6 Marquee projectors in new condition. Very Happy

No 1 ticket is enough. Some sort of compensation to the wife will also be needed this time..Ill have to go alone this time. Just need to go out shop materials to build 2-3 flight cases, and get build packed, and get out of there.

If there is no one around to help ill just have to get angry and trow around a few Marquee projectors, hope its not to hot in Laredo.

I'd pay to see you in a sombrero hauling CRTs under the sun. Post some images when you get there!

LOL!

You're in luck, Kurt. It's pretty cool there now. Highs should be 20°C or so. It would be a very different story if you were doing this in July...

That's not a bad rate at all... I usually spend around $200-250 for a week in most cities. Although I have to say "full size" isn't nearly as "full size" as it was 20 or even 10 years ago.

Looks like there's both Home Depot and Lowe's home improvement stores in Laredo, and both have lumber and tool rental, strapping, and almost anything else you should need. Should be good to go.

yes
and Kurt home depot will rip the plywood sheets down to whatever size you want (they start out as 4 feet + 8 feet). FREE for the first 4 cuts, Every cut after is like $0.15-$0.50 ea. Still la lot cheaper than buying a saw. I would think about the shape of the box and design it before you get there, so you can just walk in and pick up what you need, cut it all at once, and then screw it all together at the warehouse.
don't forget a couple of ski's on the bottom so the fork-lift can get under the box and pick them up.
