I haven't shipped a Marquee overseas since 2005. I think BAX Global was the best choice back then, but they required shipping FROM a business. Luckily back then I was in Southern California and a good friend let me use his business to ship from.
Anything other than BAX got overly pricey.

You can have your opinions and I'll have mine. I think spending thousands of dollars to purchase, retrieve, palletize, ship, and store some old projectors, and even considering taking several days to fly internationally to do it would almost certainly qualify as just a little crazy to most. Even around here, which is sort of asking the people in the insane asylum of they're crazy. Change "a little crazy" to "certifiably insane" if you asked any female spouses.

That's the stupid airlines for you. $519 to fly 8-10 hours domestically, but $900 for 30 hours of international flight. Makes perfect sense.
It's the short notice that jacks up the prices on the domestic flight. They know they can easily fill the seats at the last minute, so the price goes up. That same SLC-to-AUS flight that's $519 this week drops to just over $200 if you fly 2+ weeks from now. That paradigm doesn't exist with international flights. Probably not a lot of last-minute London-Heathrow-to-Austin, TX flights.

Congrats! I assume that was either ebay, the gov or some other auction.
Unfortunately, Laredo is in the middle of nowhere. I think the closest members from here are in San Antonio. I haven't seen them post in ages, so they might not be an option.

If you got HD10E lenses, then those are the same as HFQ900s, and I'm jealous! very few Marquees were sent out with those though, I have had 5 through here, all in the same batch of sets from a planetarium about 5 years ago. the last 20 that I bought had the more or less useless HF10Ls on them, although I've now sold most of the sets as parts chassis to customers.
The sets I had with the HD10E lenses had simulator wear on the green, I lucked out and had no wear on the reds and blues!
Good score though, although shipping will be expensive no matter who you deal with.

If this guy needs help in Austin then he needs to respond pretty soon.
I only have one day open to help right now and my schedule fills up quickly.

Sorry for the late reply.
They are in Laredo.
Im checking with different shipping companies getting them picked up in Laredo, and shipped back here, and so far it seems to be a fair price, if i can just get these projectors packed up 3 in each box.
And to do so, it might be cheapest that i fly directly to Laredo and build and load the boxes/ flight cases myself, unless someone local will be able to do so.

I mean it would not be worth wasting time and money with a Marquee when having a Ampro.

Oh, I'm not going to try turning them on. They probably don't work anyways. They can't even be in the same room as my Ampros.
I am already setting up for what I need them for.

The infighting amongst the CRT people is at an all time high. Tired of picking on the digital owners?

I just think we have come to the conclusion that digital owners who dont own a CRT are much more intelligent, and its impossible to win a argument there.
Moron to moron makes a much better fight.

Do you have confirmation that they are HD10E? When I compare the pictures they look the same as the HFQ900 and different from the GT17 I have.
