wonder if dragan ever pursued this any further. | no, I might re-visit this HDM but I never really put in the time to fix the Cree version after it quit working.

Dennis , I remember now. I bet its a software issue. The HDM is controlled
by the Daughter board, might need a little software tweaking to line up the scan lines correctly
due to the new circuit(two fets instead of three) or some other parts tweaked to keep the scan's even across all zones.
Probably much like the Banding issue, and the new software needed for that.
Nashou | is it correct to assume that the only person capable of doing this is TSE? If someone sent him a Cree modified HDM and begged , any chance he would do it. Or at least take an analytical look at the board?

My mind is a different place at the moment, need to find a purpose for 21 HD10E lenses. | I might be interested in a set, but they would have to be cheap, as I don't really have an immediate need for them and I don't like to put a lot of money into inventory.

I'm interested in a set too for a new maxed out 3D build. I wasn't going to.. but with these lenses he got me thinking.

the scans are even it`s just a difference in brightness and that`s what is so strange about it.
otherwise the image must be cropped on the left side and that certainly is not the problem.
scott would be my numero uno person to go to yes.

For me, there is NO CRT projector that is welcome in my theater any longer. For others, nothing BUT a CRT projector is welcome in their theater. For still others, they don't even really HAVE a theater. There's no sense arguing about some of these things because many of us simply have totally different interests and priorities.

Wow, I pour out my heart to you today and this is how you treat me. Some of us just have small pen$ses, I mean houses, and can't satisfy a home theater.
I knew Kurt was razzing everybody on the G90 from the get go. I guess it got underneath some peoples skin. He has made his distaste for the G90 well known. It is unfortunate that he has only seen his from which to make his observation.
That being said, I know Craig is probably tired of talking G90 owners off the ledge based on Kurt's comments. Craig will admit that a fully modded out 9500 is probably better than a G90. The problem is getting to that point takes a lot time and work. A G90 is consistently good right out of the box. There is just not that many people that are willing to do what it takes to get a Marquee to that point. I asked tse once how big of a difference there is between pjs using the same lens/tube combo. His reply was not a lot of difference.

Jeez- I'm away for a few days and WWWIII breaks out..lol
I agree with said points. It does take a lot of time to get it to the point where it performs at an optimal level. I like tinkering but not at the expense of watching movies, so I suppose I fall somewhere in between Crabb's categories. The other thing is that as time has gone on and I've become accustomed to the image thrown by my PJ, going back to a stock Marquee is not an option I would find acceptable. I think that a by product of tinkering is that you become more critical of what you are looking at. As that happens, what might seem like a small difference in performance to one person becomes a bit more profound to another.

Are you sure it was an HDM problem? Not a contrast modulation (CCM) issue?
I wonder if trying some newer HDM firmware would fix it like Nash suggested. How old was your board?

yes i am sure cause i had another unmodded in that didn`t show the problem.
i think it`s a 2000 board, 08p ultra anyway.
brightness is inserted on the dac from the vim, maybe something can be done there?
