hi there

i got about ten different input entrys on my nec 6pg plus, but only use nr. 1 and nr. 9 of them. NOW (as sometimes on my nec 6pg plus with bad caps) those two standart input channels suddently doesnt work anymore and it just says "unknown input signal". weird thing, not only that those entrys i usually dont use still work, also, its not just one of the usually used entries crooked, no, both of the standard entries, 1 and 9, dont work anymore..whäww

creating a new entry and choosing 1 or 9 as data copy source doesnt really help it, as the picture is stil pretty out of allignment.

so is there a trick to restore my great looking entrys 1 and 9 anyhow, or do i realy have to start again Evil or Very Mad

please?

thanks and bw christoph

The big question is if really the memory got corrupted, or the other slots don't recognized either. I bet it is the second. The aging system board can do tricky things...
Tell us, did you experience out of sync menu screen or any odd behavior lately (except this) on that NEC?

This is common when the system board is beginning to fail. The system board can be adjusted to eliminate the erratic behavior but you would have to redo the entries, most likely. The system board should be recapped first though.

It is in the metal cage between the green and blue tube, they are labelled anyway...

Don't try to unsolder the legs from the board when recapping! You most likely pull the via from the multilayer board too which means irreversable total damage. Cut them or pull the old capacitor from its legs and solder the new caps on the legs of the old ones.
