This is a bit confusing, This is a quote from the buy/sell page written by Curt himself
I've got 1 only Barco 7622091 quadrupler for sale Came out of a 708, but can be used in every Barco model from the 701 to the 1209s. This quad can also be subbed directly for any of the new quads in the 808s and 1208s/1209s, use either the old or new style EHT board and HV splitter.
What do you deduce from that quote?

To me Casey, that comment of Curt's is sort of at odds with what Hulio is saying, in fact I have read that service bulletin regarding Quad/EHT and splitter compatibility, and he is dead right, it's just odd that in spite of a compatibility chart there are other schools of thought, and I am sure that Curt has over the years tried every combination known to man and knows what will and will not work.
But when you are on the blunt end of this (read ignorant) with so many numbers flying around and points of view I am finding it a bit worrying as to what to stick in this thing!!
So basically am looking for some definitive clarity here

Trev, don't panic, you are almost there.
The 7622091 quad will fit for you too ( it is also a new style ) but that was not the issue. Your problem was the old style splitter + new style quad + new style EHT + new style mainboard.
I do not have a lot of experience with swapping all guts in projectors, i'm just reminding what in that technical bulletin from Barco is written : oscillation.
This is my theory: with other wrong combinations you'll get no EHT so is prety clear that the PJ is dead but oscillation it means the machine will do run but the feedback voltage will not be stable. Things can become hot and finaly die.
So does any splitter works ? Sure it does but for how long time ? Some folks get lucky, others will have a picture for months or days. It's a risc.
Now you have the right quad and EHT, you'll need a 762718 splitter. I wouldn't want to fry a third quad, if i was in your shoes.

Thanks for that Hulio,
I fully understand what you are saying, It just now becomes a question as to where I can get a Splitter form with the right numbers on it, I am not sure where to begin with that one.
Just to re-cap on this:
It seems that I have coming from Canada a NEW STYLE QUAD + a NEW STYLE EHT is that correct??
I have a NEW STYLE MAINBOARD yes??
So now I need a NEW STYLE SPLITTER yes??

Hi Casey,
Hope you are feeling better (at least better than yesterday and hopefully tomorrow you will feel somewhat better than today, but I imagine that internally it will take some time to heal properly,
Just wanted to say "Thank you so much" the device arrived safely late today, chomping at the bit now because, until I can find a way to resolve this (hopefully) last issue I cannot obviously get to check out your most generous donation, at present I don't really know what to do to address this splitter issue, non of the ones here are of any use and there is no combination of either what I have here, or what is hopefully on it's way from across the pond, so I am I think, going to be stuck for some time yet.

Trevor, if you can't find a splitter closer by, i'm willing to send you one. You may try it and if your problem is gone, you'll have to pay the shipment only. If the problem persist, you send me the splitter back. However, i won't be able to send it before monday.

Hulio,
You are definitely in rescue mode!!.
I am very grateful for your kind offer, and will readily accept, how would you like me to pay for this, do you have, like a PayPal A/c or something I can pay into for you.
I am convinced that your reading of all this has proven correct to date, and the correct splitter in theory, is the last link in the chain for total success, so long as the Canadian parts are fault free everything should work out fine,
Cannot thank you enough for all the help/support and now this offer, both you and Casey have been without a doubt the main reason I have not in fact bought a boat and used the Barco as an anchor !!
Have you an email address I can send My details to, or do you just want me to put it all in a post on here, I don't really mind, whatever suits you is OK.
And Monday is just fine with me, just happy that everything is going so well.
Regards
Trev

No problem Trevor, you are welcome.
Shoot me a PM with your full adress and phone nr. I do have a PayPal account but you don't have to pay yet. Wait to see if your problem is gone.
I will send the splitter with standard track & trace, no need to pay extra for express, to just win a day or two. Just my opinion.
Be carefull when you solder the white wire to the splitter. Do not use another wire, just cut your existing one close to the splitter and strip it carefuly. It's a coaxial-like special teflon wire. Also, never touch that potmeter.
It is a fully working splitter pulled out from, guess what, a Cine 8 with about 3500 hours on the run.
Cheers,
Stan

You should. R763308 is the right one for Cine 8 but R7625021 will do too for the new quad-eht-splitter combination. If you have R762502 it will be incompatible and will need a not so simple mod ( you'll have to dismount the mainboard to put a jumper on the underside ).
To find the sticker with the part nr. of the mainboard, you have to pull some cards out of the chassis. Mostly is located right under the power supply. Also, if you see a sticker with the 1180057 numbers on it, you'll be ok. That is the same serial nr. as on the back side of the PJ.
Regarding the RC5 remote: you need the right CTRL and RWI chips on the controller ( and you have them already, reading from a older post of you ) and the right IR receiver on the back of the machine. Open the lid with cards and look if the IR sensor right in the middle has the R763155 part nr. ( or, again, the serial nr. 1180057 )on it. If is R761781, you won't be able to use the newer style remote.
But i think you are ok, i don't think that the only genuine Cine 8 on that projector is the back sticker, and the rest 808 bits.

Hulio, can you clarify, am I missing something? Can Trevor not just desolder the existing wire? Would it not be better than cutting it and then having to restrip it?

Yeah, he can do that ofcourse. It would be less time consuming indeed but, if i had to do that for myself, i would do it with a "fresh wire", if the lenght will permit. With resoldering, it will be for the fourth time ( the existing splitter was a replacement already ) that the fragile core protection will feel the heat. We don't want a short there...
But hey, if still in good shape, it is easyer. You are right.

Ok Hulio, you make a very good point - I understand now. For the sake of a few centimeters, and hoping that this setup is going to work for the long term this time, then it may be worthwhile; to safeguard a short, as you say.

Allright Trev, you are good than. Like Case said, that little box is the mains filter. Don't worry about it.
Talking about the mains, don't forget to check the jumper and to change those fuses like i mensioned on page 23. The fuses costs only a few cents per piece and are important for future safety.
