Yes the Cine series had fan speed control so they can be very quiet. I don't believe the 909 does so its fans are noisy compared to yours.

Ok any structural engineers here?

I'm trying to determine the load on the ceiling joists to take the 2 909's, I'll be using 3 joists to secure the units however, due to most of the weight being close to the front of these beast, should I be calculating 2 joists taking the load rather than 3 ?

Span is 3.8 mts, flat roof trusses above.

Frankly, don't worry about the load, the ceiling will take it. It always surprises me when people freak out about hanging a projector. If a 200 lb person (80Kg) stands on the floor above and puts their feet together, they are putting that 200 lb load on about a 1 square foot area, yet you don't ever hear of anyone falling through the floor, or about the floor collapsing. Why then is it an issue hanging a 200 lb projector over 2-3 studs?

Curt

This is a flat roof made out of trusses, if it were floor joist I wouldn't care.
Ive consulted with the truss plant who ran it through their program and it requires stiffeners
on bottom cords, which means I have to cut plaster, no biggie Smile

What i did was run two big Australian Made street sign pipes across the room, they are reasonably thick walled and very strong. If you can obtain a couple of those cheap, youre laughin Wink

In your case i would attach across a decent width, you want the maximum firmness in your mounting so nothing moves while youre doing manual alignments, and it should also reduce movement seen from expansion/contraction as well.

Even when i mount digitals i over-engineer the hell out of the mounts i make to ensure the firmest install i can practically achieve, makes alignment so much easier, and even when some clown decides a pool cue is more convenient than the remote control to switch them on, they dont move Wink

You dont want to hang 170kgs from those trusses, they will sag for sure, and that means continual bloody realignments if youre like me with convergence!!

Well it seems you guys were right about the HV being the problem, I changed out the splitter and the image shaking has gone Thumbs Up
Btw the splitter I pulled out of my 1209s had the same part number so I just installed that and all good, nice stable image now. Mr. Green
I've installed my first set of C elements, changed the Glycol and hopefully will install them tomorrow, just making sure there are no leaks. Then it's time to work on the other one Smile

Anyone know why the pic auto dims after a while, and how to fix it?
When I touch the contrast or brightness it goes back to normal.
Any ideas?

It shouldnt do that with a source connected, mine does that in the menus though.

It's normal in menu's. I think you can't shut it off. Kind of a screen saver.

Your tubes look a bit wet from glycol? make sure to rinse them with water very well and let them dry before installing all neck assemblies. Corrosion will lock your bolts and you'll never get those loose again if you ever have to take out c-element again.

Nice catch by the way! get some Barco-HD boards from moome for your input.
