Hi,

I've retired my NEC 10PG. Works great but I've gone to a JVC digital PJ.

NEC works fine, but unless someone in ATL area wants it, parting it out is the best option. Hate to do it, but....

Anyway, the tubes are perfect and could do someone some good. NEC part numbers are: 951N5631 Red, 951N5641 Green, 951N5651 Blue. I'm assuming they will work in other PJs?

Any help would be appreciated.

Case is right, they are unique to the NEC 10 PG.

Yes, if you can get them out, (not always easy).

If I had more hours on my tubes I would be intersted. I only have 1400 hours on my 10PG tubes. This has to be some kind of record. When this PJ dies I still have my E8500 tucked away for an encore performance someday before I move to digital.

I have to call bs on this claim

I know as I removed one before (would have put it in my marquee but didn't feel like messing with it)

It's getting the tubes out of the chassis that I found to not as easy the c elements are cake walk(literally just a few screws hold the ring in place)

Case as long as it is a lc unit with 9inch tubes(I think 8's are the same) they will fit

C-elements cam right out...no problem at all. Four screws over a tub to catch the glycol....splash..done.

Just for the record I said it is not always easy, for instance the C-elements in the NEC GP5000 were glued in, while the tube assembly and the c-elements were the same to the 10PGs.

And that's not always the case either. I nuked one set of 10PG elements, as they were heavily siliconed in as well. The second and third set I sold came out fine, so it seems to be whatever that specific production run did.

The ones in mine was just sitting in there with only the front ring holding them no glue

Weird

I always have read about stuff like curt posted happening which kinda worried me about removing them but I removed them no sweat(after removing what seemed like a whole bottle of glycol)

Now I know my marquee's c elements are not anyway as easy and why I haven't put a red c element in it yet(not ruining the bellows)

I did sell one set, still in the LC frame to a forum member a while back, as I was fearful of breaking them, so I sold them with the caveat of 'take them out at your own risk'.

He emailed me back saying they popped right out, as they did with the last 10PG I parted out. I felt a bit stupid! Smile
