There were 2 versions of the Vidikron case. I don't know why the change, or which one is older/newer.

The V2 case in the photo is the newer "restyled version". The difference is that the two halves adjoin more toward the center. On the original it's much closer to the front by the lens barrels. I think they restyled it very late in the production run. I have an old SGHT magazine with the Vidikron add touting the restyled case.

there also was another case out there that had a screen mesh on the top like a split back corvette, not sure who made that case. I have only seen them a few times, one was on Videogon for sale section a few years back.

Found a small picture of it but not the top so you can see the spit back screen top cover.

This is the red one of the two new lcp tubes that came in. A red colour element is on the way. Nice bellows and 6-pole magnets.

Is VDC still making them? On the old tubes stood Panasonic but that glas looked very new too. Pansonic is not making anymore I guess?

The green one

From the labels I think they are from 03-2011 and 10-2011.

6-pole astig on green too but not the typical Marquee rings. I had these rings with my runco once and they break easily. I do have 3 6-pole spares though Smile

I think Ultimate Entertainment had those made. Tim knows about those cases; pretty sure he once posted a photo from one of his clients that had a flame paint job.

I'd love one of those Accurate machines though Mr. Green

" beef up the power supply," what does that mean? Add a DAC with SDI input? I had an accurate imaging video 9 and I also did not see an SDI input anywhere?
The Chris Stephens mods were to the focus board and neck-boards, a bunch of Wet tantalum caps

A bunch of wet tants were added to the HVPS, don't remember what was done to the LVPS. There were different versions of the Accurate and Reference Imaging machines 9" machines. The very top models had custom SDI cards. Basically Chris developed the initial mods for Vidikron and when they folded James Wellnitz (former Vidikron CEO) started Accurate Imaging and utilized the blueprints. Chris was then at Reference Imaging and continued the evolution of the original mod set.

Chris also modded the VIM with wet tants and used Audioquest's best analog cable (Audio Video Pro) for the VIM to VNB pathway. Was something like $500/meter!

Aja made the SDI card for them. The same company that makes the Black magic video cards.

it was $ 2800 for the single input card with a SDI loop through .

Cool.. if you have them I'll buy them.

But at the same time it would be fun to know the exact date when they were introduced.

As Tim write.. Looks like they came with the ULTRA model in 1998. They are on 4 of the 5 Marque i have here, so its actualy harder to find the old metal sidecovers.

I bet Curt has trown out a shitload of those plastic sidecovers.

I wonder about that because the seller doesn't even have an ULTRA.. it's a plain 8500 AC.

If Tim comes through yet again he gets me what I want.. but unless he doesn't..

The fact that he doesn't state explicitly it's an ultra it might be. It's not even AC it's LC, besides the case was repainted, maybe the sticker with the ultra logo too, so the only actual pointer is either look at the focus board or check the product code.

True, and that's why I changed my mind about them because the offers I got is just to high to get them. I may get them anyway, at some point, but at the moment money is better spent on other things that I need.

I have one more question. Where can I get the tubes that fit on the syringe and in the chamber?

I used a tube from a little bottle of spray that I had but that tube is not so long. I need a longer one. Do they sell these tubes at an apotheek?
