OK seriously, if that's the kind of meet you have on the East Coast, I'm out! I can converge my heart out here. When I leave the homestead, I want drink, food, BBQ, and midget strippers! Smile

We went out to what I am told is the oldest restaurant in the US tonight. Is that good enough for you? Razz Don's bbq is on tap for tomorrow along with a couple of digital pjs to put these temperamental CRTs to task. Twisted Evil

Steve (Mr. ROCO), Kurt (Stridsvognen), and Peer (Kurt's brother) arrived Wednesday evening. SpankyHam (Eric) arrived Friday afternoon. Mark Seaton has not appeared yet.

Last night, Mark Haflich and Bryan joined us for dinner at the Red Fox Inn. Today, they are bringing a JVC X55 Lycos digital projector, and some 3 chip DLP digital projector to compare to the CRT blend. They left a Lumagen Radiance XD video processor (at our request) for testing purposes on Sunday.

Probably about 8 more people showing up today.

Don Wallace dropped off the pulled pork and beef brisket BBQ late Thursday afternoon. Brandon dropped off the home made Summer Honey Wheat, and Pumpkin beers mid Friday afternoon.

No sign of any Midget Strippers, although they may be playing with Peanut (the Dog) out in the West 40.

We are nearly done with a complete blend setup. Steve and I (much more Steve than me) have completely redone the geometry of both projectors, including raising the front of each to elevate the image. Steve has also touched up electronic focus, astigmatism, and optical focus. (We have left Scheimphlug alone.) The geometrical result is so good, that when I projected the Align.exe crosshatch pattern with diagonal lines, no adjustments needed to be made to the geometry of either projector to align them with each other!!!

We started a grayscale calibration last night. Kurt is leading that effort, using a process I have never used before. I am using my new Sencore OTC-1000 tri-stimulus colorimeter for the first time. Some startup transients, including taking the first measurements with the lens cap still on, and taking measurements from too far away from the screen. The grayscale calibration still needs work, but we had to stop last night as we had dinner reservations at 8 PM.

I have asked one of the Meet attendees to be the Official Meet Chronicler, taking pictures and posting them plus descriptions.

The timing was perfect for the Meet. The trees (outside of the Home Theater) are absolutely gorgeous. It's raining leaves!!!

William

None of my CRT blend screenshots came out well. All were blurry. (cheap camera)

Compared to the digital though, they were punchy and more realistic.
