What I found is that when I lower contrast from 72 to 52 my gamma curve becomes more flat. only green goes down at 70ire to 1.9.
So the more contrast I give it the lower gamma result it gives in higher IRE regiones. Mostly green is affected... It's not fast fosfor as I know, I had same behavior with my stock LUG's also color filtered and new as well.

Does boostmode change anything? Does the boost function work properly?

I tried boost mode but it does give a little more light output but not much. It doesn't change gamma curve much.
Maybe you are right but I don't see that the projector is pushed too much at contrast 72 and 6 ftl...

Seems boost is ok. Does the same with me.
Perhaps but not likely the EHT board is giving a BCL (beam current limiting) signal to soon. Perhaps change the EHT if you tried everything else?

In fact phosphor is my guess too.

This is a stand alone player that allows 0-255->16-235 both in standard and as extra filter.
http://www.winpenpack.com/main/download.php?view.1228
I was forced to use the filter to get my low gamma right from my tricky computer. It may be worth a try to see if you get out real 16-235. (remember to double check the moome to be in 0-255.)

Oh, I'm so glad I ran into you again. I downloaded the player and one thing that really caught my eyes were the several modes of V sync.. maybe there's a solution for my modded VIM 03 in there somewhere!
Thanks!

Check the U41 on your VIM, and see if its CYNC 1.0 or 2.0
I have had a 03VIM with a SYNC 1.0 chip who made some issues.
Other than that i still dont think the VIM is the issue, but your Moome card.

I'll remember that and check when it gets here. I gave MP a stock VIM 03 over his troubles with this, as it didn't work when I bought from someone else, but as it turns out it also a better version than the original modded VIM 03, so every mod has been shifted over to that board. I'll slip MP some $ next month to cover his time with this. It may not cover all of his time but it's the least that I can do.
As for the moome card, you're probably right, and since he will be doing the latest filter-mod to it also, I need to ship it. I'm paying him a little for this though.
In bypassing, I asked him about making a V4 and he said he is thinking about it, and maybe with a new business model with pre-order. I hope he makes one..

thewolfman >> The sync may be different in some movies but for me I have non or V for standard and that works for 90% of the movies. The VIM 03 I have no experience in.

Really, I didn't know that. I must check with more movies next time around then. But stock VIM 02 and moome V1 has always worked so it sounds unlikely. But it's good to know it's know to happen.

So how do it work out if you run your Moome V1 in your 03VIM.?

I can't remember really, I shipped it to US in dec. But as far as I can recall, I tried a lot of different combos and all I could make of it was bad connections.
Oh, I remember now, moome V3 always worked ok with stock VIM 02. I had it like that for at least 6-8 months. I think. I could go back and check with e-mails and post to serve my memory better. I'll look into it.

You need to connect another converter to the VIM to see if that will work, Do you have something who can feed the BNC RGBHV connectors.
What edition is your U41 .?
Dont count on how it was , go run the Moome V3 on your 02VIM, see if it sync, and run your 03VIM with another source/ converter.
And what is your source.?

According the result, I think you might use the wrong test pattern. You have to use "window pattern" for CRT.

I send you a Pm instead. But like I said, I'm waiting for the stuff to get here so I can test.

Always use windowed test pattern. Mostly from AVC HD

Did you try gamma at 72Hz just to be sure if it is not fast phosphor?
