Yes, I am running 7.1 with all external amps. I have plenty of power, that's what don't make sense to me.. I would understand if it was just the Integra, but the Integra doesn't drive anything. P.S. Nash, good luck with the snow I heard you are getting 2 to four feet this week.

I'm wondering then if Mac knows if the internal power amps can be unplugged via their power cable without affecting anything else? Seems to me the unit would run a lot cooler that way.

Well the DTS chips on the Onkyos run very very hot. I added a heat sink to the DTS chip and the main CPU chips.
You might want to give it a try.
It is the DTS chip that does not have pins that might be causing the issue. In this pic you can see the
two heat sinks added. the lower one is the BGA DTS chip.
I used some 3M double sided tape. You can get ones with the adhesive already on them.

Where do you buy those at ? Are they one large piece that you cut to size or do you have to buy correct sizes to fit ? Thanks !

Unplugging the amps would be great ! Anything to make this thing run cooler.
