For a 9'6" wide screen the lenses need to be back 13', give or take a couple of inches.
When you're doing convergence, use the 'genlocked' test pattern, and have an image running while converging. Make sure you're not using the blanking at all. That should do it.

Did you try adjusting the actual source input on the projector instead of the internal pattern? |
I'm not even sure where I can find it.
I assume you are talking about something that is part of the projector and not the input signal.

Yes, when you go in to do alignment, you have 3 options, they are:
Source
Genlocked Pattern
Internal pattern.
Whatever they are on an 808 you MUST adjust the image size WITH THE SOURCE IMAGE VISIBLE. To do that, you pick the top option which will allow you to set everything with your source image visible.
To set alignment and convergence use the one called genlocked pattern.
The third option is of little or no real use, unless you were setting up a source that isnt available to you at the time. Which youre not.

I now have true home theater.
The image is sized to the screen and convergence was a walk in the park.
Thank you all.
One day, if I ever get a full mansion I'll look into blending.
Although technology will probably jump so far by then.
Meanwhile, for the curious among you, after all was said and done, the entire system ran about $300.00 U.S.
