Yes a PC is the fastest way to view any HD content. Though I still have to say even 20 seconds after 5 years still sounds pretty good to me. My blu ray player is the first one released by Pioneer, the BDP-HD1, and EVERY disc takes at LEAST 1 to 2 minutes to load, never mind the minute it takes to power on before it allows you to operate it.
Why do I still use it if there are so many superior players out there? Because this player works perfectly, and has never rejected a blu ray in its entire life. This player also has an IDE Blu Ray burner for a disc drive. Its a drop in install into any PC with IDE and you then have a blu ray player/burner.
Aside from all that, the video quality out of this player is still phenomenal compared to many newer players. I've never had an oppo so I can't say anything for them, but I'm sure they are pretty good since most people I know have them. I just prefer my slow antiquated Pioneer

well that pioneer was 1500 bucks new...so...today here you can get a bluray player for under a 100 usd..
I would choose a well built pioneer over any new samsung or whatever..i still have my 1st dvd player made by pioneer still working fine..not to mention a ld player made by them but havent turned that on for at least 8 years...

I want to know have you heard the saying you get what you pay for???
Really I have a sony(pretty new one with 3d) and its neck and neck with both my ps3 and ps4 at loading blu ray movies
Yes I had to pay a lot for them but it was worth it
Chill the heck out and go and buy a better player
Samsung makes some things great and some is so so
I use a media pc in my bedroom and any movie loads in no time flat(yes a I put a lot of money and work into it)
