What's the deal with that big dark grey plastic sheet glued to the top cover? As I see it covers the most of the effective breathing holes on the cover, totally pointless, it's not even guiding much air.. With PGs I learned that the set runs cooler when the cover is CLOSED. Now with my XG it seems the cover ON makes the XG MUCH hotter and I am suspect this plastic sheet for all trouble, why is this there, what if I remove it?

Its not ordinary plastic. I wouldnt expect removal to make any difference either.

For example it completely covers the heatsink on the HV board (which is hot), whereas in the PG xtra a small fan cooled the exactly same size heatsink... And while there is an opening for the deflection fan, but no clearing for the deflection exhaust. The deflection board runs hotter at 54kHz, than in the PG xtra, and that was said to blow up easily... Whith the top cover off these heatsinks are barely warm.
