You have fans opposing eachother?
Shouldn't they be blowing in the same direction, helping eachother?
I find the convergence tray fan makes a higher pitched (annoying) sound.
I am curious what your result with be. |
Yes the fans blowing air in the same direction, see the arrows in my pictures.
I tried to mount a Noctua fan for convergence tray and it's really quieter but I'm afraid that cannot dissipate hot air from tray.
I seen your avatar, You have a 808?
The fan of 808 is more little than 1209s.
In the 1209s the fan is mounted at the end of a long air duct (I hope that's right word).

That "some sort of control wire" is the speed signal, wich is used e.g. in PCs.
I won't trust SilenX too.
When i was choosing fans as replacement for my Marquee NMBs, I found a test
where Silenx where the loudest fans of 4 or 5.
I bought the Arctic F9 Pro TC.
They have a temperature sensor, and if the sonsor measures over about 35°C,
they spin faster.
Even at full speed they where quiet enough for me when i sat directly beside the projector.
