Hello again,

I'm still reviewing possible beamer locations in my attic. One possibility would be to have the beamer at approx. 4 feet above floor level, facing the middle of the screen. But thats contrary to everything I have seen so far.

Still I wonder why this should not work. Of course, if the beamer is level with respect to the floor it will throw the image somewhere at the ceiling. But if I tilt the beamer so the lenses come parallel to the screen, shouldn't that work?

cheers
Martin

That is actually a a very good setup for the projector, and you'll get the best picture out of it. but the projector is then sitting right in the best place for viewing as well, and also the projector will be near at ear height so you'll hear the fans much more. But if you can arrange that the projector is behind the main seats then it could be a pretty nice setup, indeed.

My XG is installed with very little keystone use, the screen is very high on the wall and the machine is mounted low above my bed, because i am laying down to view it, everything is perfect.

Depends on how big (loud) one is! Falcon drivers would say one is just fine! Wink

Seriously, though. Yeah… The one projector was loud enough six feet from my head on the ceiling. The second one two feet behind my head was beyond ridiculous. The noise floor in the room was horrible. It was just an experiment, mostly for the fun of it. It became readily apparent that the 12xx didn't have anywhere near good enough geometry control (or enough of it) to stack. But, it was fun just to see the wicked on/off.

But, yeah - totally ridiculous sounding.
