One more question. I bought some boards that I don't fully understand. They are Mike Parker modified but I don't know if I can use both in the Cine MAX? On the picture to the left are the driver and switcher that are now in the MAX. On the right are the boards that are clearly Cine 8 boards but perhaps they also work in the Cine MAX? Thanks!

Not yet. To busy watching every movie man has made Very Happy Lots of improvements to do but this is already the best investment ever. Had to remove the cork on the plate by the way. Temp sensor problems, seems ok again. Temp is now below 28. I totaly forget the fans. There is realy very little one has to do on a max except for setup.

Even Runco only painted the case black making it a DTV 1200. Is that correct?

And software flash with startup logo with Runco DTV-1200 Wink
Actually I think the whole 909 Cine9 DTV-1200 split packs etc. are pretty much comparable.
909 vs Cine9 is software and fan control boards are different. But the most important boards are the same. Cine9 has some optional boards for line doubling and 909 for contrast and edge modulation. The Cine9 is resolution limited to preserve it from heat and be able to run the fans at lower speed and so more quite.
I made a excel comparing sheet with all board numbers to see which boards are different. Came to the conclusion that most boards are equal.

I also did some spare swaps in the past between the 909 and Cine 9 and it worked without issues.

The excel sheet would be interesting.

You did a software firmware update ? What version is it ?

The latest version of a 909 is 2.3 ?

I think 2.3x was the latest soft. version for Cine 9. My 909 has version 3.11 and i believe Francisco's SEOS 919SP have even a higher version.

The Cine 9/MAX have colour filtered C-elements, the 909 are clear.

Youve got an XG, if you convert it to LC, tune it to perfection, and depending on your screen size there wont be much in it.

I think given the age of my XG, and its tube condition (good but certainly not ideal) I would be better off going for one of these newer 9" projectors if I want to continue with CRT. Modifying the projector to do all that seems like more effort than it would be worth, especially given what these 9" machines go for these days.

ElTopo - I do want one, and am working on it!! Razz

Also, this may seem like a rather noobish question, but I assume the colored C elements of the cine9/max can be put into the 909?

One more difference between the 909 and the Cine 9 is that the fans in the back do not have this little frame between the fan and the chasis I think. I am judging from pictures but the Runco did have these frames and I think they are important to make the fans act different and pump less fast. Also I don't know if the chasis for the tubes has a metal plate for the air inlet on the 909. The Cine Max has a metal plate there. Finally in the brochure they say low noise fans in the convergence tray. I have no way to judge if these are in the 909.
