The MP modded RGB input board will work in Cine 9.
Here Mike's post from five years ago:

Not 100% sure about the RGB driver board. Shoot Mike a PM, he will tell for sure.
Don't forget before working on static astigmatism to neutralize the dinamic astig first.
A reset to midposition in the service menu will put everything to 49, with exception of dinamic astig.
You have to manualy put din. astig to 49 ( axial and diagonal in all zones ).
Than take care of static astig ( magnet rings on tube neck ) and when done, bring your dots to perfection with dinamic astig.

Yes it definitely is the right one on that picture. There are some chips upgraded on that board so it will certainly do something. The driver I really don't know at this point. I mailed Mike but he has not been online the last few days.

In this topic Mike talks about drivers but the one show is a 7627205

Thanks for the tips on astig. Didn't know that.

You can set dynamic astig to midpoints from the service menu.

Thanks! I really enjoyed that Hobbit episode yesterday. The picture is without doubt the very best I have ever seen.
But I am trying to figure out where the sounds come from. I replaced all NMB back fans with the fans from my 809 yesterday. The difference was in the rubber fan mounts. Though at first it seemed better after some time I was not sure. Today I replaced the original fans with mount and put some cork in between the frame and the fan. At first this seems better again I almost only hear the sound of blowing air now. Will try tonight if this really is better.
But to be short I tested blue-tac, rubber mounts and now cork. If this does not work I will need a different approach with hush box or splitting Very Happy

So you guys are right she is very quiet! The cork really did something about a resonance but when I put the plastic cover on man I almost didn't hear her anymore! That is something I had not expected to be so much influence. Stupid of cause Embarassed

This has been a long road discovering the Cine Max but indeed in this way I don't feel much need to make a hushbox.

Have to fiks that remote cover thing Wink

You are right. When I sit right under it it is very quiet and it seems I don't need a box indeed. I was running without the cover because I very much like the metal Laughing I wanted to take of the remaining plastic too. Now in fact I am still thinking about a box to replace the plastic. But there is no hurry. Moving on to the next steps. With optical focussing and sheimplug with mechanical setup the image is pretty sharp already also in the corners. Now I have to work on the electronics but as I can totally enjoy movies right now I will take some time to do something else Laughing

By the way I used a cord spanned from the middle of the screen to the same place on the backwall measured along the back wall and screen. Now I used this rope to find the middle and the angle the Max has to project with the help of a weigth on a little rope hanging from the long rope. The little rope had to be exactly in the middle of the beamer front and back. This seemed to work better than spanning ropes from the corners of the screen to the corners of the beamer.

With the sheimpflug I defocused the lens and adjusted the sheimplug until the defocussed part top and bottom where the same width. I also took care the beamer was level but it seems with the sheimplug you can compensate for that a little.

Can I improve on this optical setup?

That is an idea! I do have one. I tried putting it on top of the Max but than the cross was to high. But with a tripod is a better idea.

Think the geometry is about right! My screen is a little smaller than 16/9. The optical focus seemed also about right. I think judging by the color difference between the vertical and horizontal one pixel pattern the bandwith is not too bad. I mean the vertical is lighter than the surrounding boxes. Also my camera (handheld iphone) adds a lot of noise. Will try a different camera same pic soon! Comments are welkom. Do you see ghosting? I have to check in real life if all these black boxes are realy that black than my brightness has to be adjusted but I will do a complete grayscale in time later.

Convergence will need abit of work to be perfect, although it could be the camera.

Ye you are right also I get that these very sharp pictures from you and Francisco are because of the astig and focus. A lot of work has to be done on that area Smile But what an amazing machine, it is already very sharp and could be even sharper with scanlines in these little numbers.

Even just making the convergence correct will improve sharpness alot.
