OK, guys. I think a calendar is a cool idea. Even just a CRT/HT calender would be cool, I think. But, so I don't waste my or anybody else's time, I thought I'd ask.
If people were willing to shoot and donate shots of their theaters and projectors, etc., I'd be willing to put the calendar together now. The other option is to wait and do a "Boobs and Tubes" calendar whenever Pete has time to get the shots - which could take awhile. Or, both could happen. So, here's the poll...

OK, I tried to put in a "I'm not interested in a stupid calendar - I have other toys to buy." option, but the board will only post 5 options in the poll - even though it lets you add and enter more than that. If you're not interested in a calender... don't vote in the poll.

If you are willing to do a hooters type calendar - (main CRT theater picture (submitted by the owners) with smaller 'boobs' picture scattered about) then I can provide a couple of hundered gigs of tasteful 'boob' pictures (umm non-nude). lol

As we're using Curts site( and some of us are card carring members)I would not be opposed to a fee going to this site nor having this sites web address on the calender ---------let us know when and where to send the funds.I have had ZERO luck taking screen shots--they all come out white even with out the flash--any ideas anyone

Unless you had some really bright backlighting behind your screen, the difference in exposure between the room and the screen will always be a problem. It means either the screen image will be properly exposed and the room is going to be black (underexposed) or the room would be right and the screen image would be completely blown out (overexposed).
You can either shoot a very, very dark scene with low lights on in the room (which will probably wash the screen with light, too), or you can take two shots on a tripod and composite them - one with lights on/projector muted - one with lights off for screen shot.

"Boobs and Tubes" calendar where: "boobs" are installing PJ to ceiling, adjusting convergence, installing new tubes, making magnetic setup, making anamorphic mods, etc. would be great

FYI-
Best way to take a picture of a CRT projecting an image (and get the room etc) is to actually fake it - put the camera on a tripod -take a double expose (one exposing the entire room - one set for the screen exposure) combine the two image in photoshop - boom a picture showing the room/projector and the image.
hee hee - if you ain't cheating ---AB

If we are going to use Pete's photos, then he needs to do a whole new line of boobs and we should all be there to make sure they are "real" (photos and boobs)..............................

Terry, there are a couple of mine in my photo album. I don't even pretend to know anything about photography. I used my wife's digital camera (I think's a Sony or something) on a tripod with the flash turned off and automatic exposure. I zoomed so the screen filled the entire frame and then just clicked off a couple of shots.
I've surely seen better, but it worked for my purposes....which was to show off how nicely that screen goo you sold me worked out!

Thanks, Kal. So, should we switch gears to posting links to the nicest, coolest, highest-res images we've found around the net... or links to your personal pics?
