Fixed the fan. It was the connector on the little PCB which didn't survive the trip from France to me. Swaped it from the old panel and now it's happy again.

The red raster dialed right in although it took close to ten turns. The blue however didn't move at all. Tried both directions to rule out a bottomed pot but no response. Do I need a new vertical board?

Are you sure you were turning the pot? I've never had that before, but if you are indeed turning the brass screw and it does nothing, then yes, you need another V board. I've got lots here if you need one.
