I have noticed lately that on certain films the left side of the audio seems weak. Not every film is this way but it seems like more than sound correct. It seems like I am hearing a much stronger right channel. To be fair I sit right of center but it seems to me its much louder, I barely hear the left side. I used a meter to set the volume levels and they are dead on. Anybody else notice this or do I have a problem ?

My hearing is not great and it does change from time to time but not in the same evening. One movie sounds "balanced" and another doesn't. I checked to see if they were running different mixes, and it was the same mix. This seems to happen often.

I couldn't take it anymore so I bumped up the left side by 2 decibels. According to the meter its way off but it sounds right.(finally)

But, you said one movie would sound fine, and another you'd notice the problem. Aren't you just going to make the right speaker sound weak now if it sounds normal sometimes?

Probably, I know its not a cure. its a patch. A very annoying patch. But I don't know what else to do.

You didn't indicate the source or the audio format and since the test tones are measuring fine, this could be a good place to start. It just might be the player or cable connections.

Could it be a difference between dts vs Dolby digital vs SDDS vs whatever? Maybe your receiver doesn't decode them equally?

Both movies played DTS HD MA 5.1 audio. One played a weak left channel ( to listen to it, not according to the meter ) one played fine.
