The projector is in pieces right now. I found some unfortunate sign of glycol leak, at least it wasn't much and it didn't go on any board, the red and blue chamber pressure looked too much so I bleeded them, tubes are out.

During the disassembly I looked at the other boards:
-the DEF board is missing a spark gap (SG5101), there is a burn mark in place of it...
-on the SYSTEM board (PWC4188) there is an empty socket for IC009, can anybody tell me if this is normal?

good deal .It may of sat for a while, good to bleed it out . tubes will slowly become scarce,I really like the necs once you hit the 10,000 road mark the counter starts over, also I think one of the boards on the flap door, forget which board it is changing that out does some resetting.

So watched the first movie on the machine, LC looks good! Though the focus is still not quite up to where the PG xtra used to.

I have tour 2 apart and replaced all of my tube in my Nec 852 I was even pondering putting a set 9" PLUGS in it with some hd-10 F lens just to check it the hardware would support It..........that really Hard To do and requires a lot of thinking and testing!

FYI the 9" tubes are not 9" either, they actually have less than 8" usable area that's how marketing works Wink

The tubes made by NEC used in the Plain and Plus PGs were considered 7", probably more so due to the design of the electronics, but the P16s are 8" tubes. Unless you want to list the G70 as a 7" set as well?

Tubes are measured corner to corner of the whole face, not just the phosphor area.
